divinesloth
I keep reading about CREE upgrade. What exactly is the benefits of CREE upgrade? Stronger, brighter LED? By how much? Tried looking at CREE website but there are so many different types of LED, I have no idea which ones are used for the upgrade. Quote Why all the venom? Reefing is just a hobby, dude. Hi divinesloth The use CREE XP-G white LEDs. do not that these are 7k LEDs, hence it will look more yellowish . If using CREE option, the number of white CREE leds will be reduce to 14 pcs only to balance the tone of the light. There is no CREE Royal blue option at the moment as I last heard about a month ago. CREE has a higher lm output and the degradation is much much slower than the SEMILeds. rgds Jacky Quote Eqpt: Deltec MCE 600, Tunze 6055 with Tunze 7091 controller, Artica 1/15 HP chiller, AquaIllumination Sol Blue LED Light System 2011 resolution : Do it simpler, better and in an easier way! SRC Member teebs Posted March 17, 2010 SRC Member Share Posted March 17, 2010 Thanks Jacky, still planning how I should set up for my 4 feet. This LED light is going to cost an arm man! Actually Maxspect LED is still one of the cheapest options for LED lighting currently. For your 4ft, 1 x G2 180W should be sufficient. But it depends on what type of corals you intend to keep. divinesloth
Hi Peter, planning for LPS and maybe a few SPS right smack at the top. 1xG2 180W is 2feet in length only right? Can cover 4x2x2? If so it is definitely a great bargain. Any place that I can view the light for myself? Actually Maxspect LED is still one of the cheapest options for LED lighting currently. ibanez
Hi all, i just received my maxspect today. Cant seem to figure out the timer issue. I have set the time accurately. And then I set the timer to on the white light between 6.00pm to 12.00am For blue light, 5.00pm to 12.30am. However, not at 2.05pm in the afternoon both lights are on. Any idea why? jackywongto
Hi bro does it mean if I leave the lights as it is now, it will follow the timer after today's time cycle? yes. I think u set the timer and then switch off and on the main switch. All the lights will turn on when u switch on at the driver unit. ibanez
Thanks for both bro's reply. If that's the case, I think its fine for me to leave the maxspect as it is for today. Just hope it will follow the timer after today's cycle. Will post some pics of the lights later. I received one set today and the other set next week. So far can only say that it is very bright and the heat emission is very low, quite pleased with the overall product.
