You need to tune your skimmer for dry skim mate.

My Setup:

3x2x2 tank with IOS

Equipment List:

Chiller: Artica 1/5HP

Chiller Pump: Sicce 4000

Return Pump: OR3500

Skimmer: Deltec APF600

Wavemaker: Tunze Wavebox/2x Hydor K2/SCWD wavemaker

Lights: DElighting 2x150W MH + 2x 39W T5 Atinic

FR: Skimz

FR Pump: Atman AT-104

Tubby ATO, Kalkweisser Reactor with magnetic stirrer.

intially it was skimming dry. only during feeding somehow it start to have alot of wet skim mate which get me pondering.

If during feeding it skims wet, then it means that there are a lot of protein particles in what you feed. In fact wet skimming is better because ti removes more waste from your tank.

If you are feeding henrys, your skimmer will basically overflow as it is super rich in protein.

I having slight micro bubble which I just close 1 eye on it. I tried putting wool but sometime it gets overflow at the side. It makes me feel very uneasy not knowing what will happen to the tank when I not around. So I just make do with the bubble.

Personally I finds that prism skimmer don't really justify for that price. Kind of overprice I feels. Due to space constraint probably this is the best skimmer design I can use. Probably given a second choice I may consider rescape my tank to fit in other skimmer.

price for 2nd hand prizm is reasonable, $60-$100 depending on condition

i am surprise and very satisfied with its performance

coming 2 months no water change, NO3 less than 5ppm

daily feeding with 1 cube of frozen mysis shrimp

cheers

agree with you bro. 2nd hand price is reasonable. but there are too many people waiting to get a 2nd hand 1. i bought mine new hence my comment as such. btw how big your tank?

so far so good. so no complain on the performance. probably a little noisy which is easier cover by interference from Tv.

regular tuning and microbubbles are the main issue for me too

i have to tune almost everyday to make it less noisy, thankfully its a 10 sec job

happy reefing

Take the time to slow down after a busy day and admire your tank bro.

Wah ! Lion fish. Nice 1. Not keeping any coral? I only having 2 clown. So can't really push the skimmer to it fullest. Probably will buy more fish when my tank is more stable.

Btw are you having a sump?
