question on not using liverocks

It could work if you have a extremely efficient sump with good bio filtration capability and refugium for macro algae cultivation.

The LFSs dont place live rocks in each and every tank too.

True..maybe they thought only place temporarily cos they will sell LS away..

Everything's sold. Back in 2yrs time.

If it's a WRX, it gotta be STI.

if thats the case, please do not invest in expensive lighting systems like T5s or MHs. I don't see a lot of LFS doing that. (= *note. I said I don't see a lot. that means there are some who bother doing so. so don't shoot me.*

and the better LFS will have a huge centra sump whereby the rocks are in. the filtration takes place within that sump itself and water is returned to the different tanks by means of a pump. check out PR, CF and ML for example.

I can't imagine them putting rocks into the main tank. how on earth are they going to catch the fish. bleah.

Do fishes require MH and T5s to survive? I dont think so..however the central sump with live rocks you mentioned make lots of sense

R*born uses FL lights... IMO they're just trying to save costs on electricity lah... Many LFS also do the same thing (but unlike R*born, the other LFS corals are all DYING uner the FL light)... So I respect the LFS who boher to use stronger lighting for their corals.

And betaFISH, LS are very beneficial in many aspects such as berlin filtration, offering fish hiding spaces and providing a clenup crew for your tank.... So I would really suggest you get at least some but if not, your tank can still survive with other filtration methods....

Besides, our 'ancestors' managed to maintain marine aquariums with the undergravel filter.... :)

not many LFS provide optimum environment for their LS, they want fast turnover n money in pocket..!

who want to rear a fish for ages, n only get the money then.

put bank in FD gives u more money..!!

so, georgeswb, pls read up more before u post your advice.

of course anything is possible, but will the stuffs thrive..??

it can survive, but for how long n in a bad state?

also meant that alot of ppl here are dumb n dumber, cause

they spent tons of money trying to duplicate optimum sea conditions?

hmm..
