Recommended Posts

supposedly expected phenomenon during the cycling phases. but why now? as in...urh. my rocks has been in there for almost a week. NH4 peak, nitrite peak and coming down slowly. so yah. any reason as to why the white patch?

also I notice some parts of the coraline algae covered rock is turning black. any reason to that as well?

white patches are coraline algae that are decaying... common in cycling phase....

black...i haf no idea.. maybe someone can explain on that..

IMO, maybe its debris covering the LRs...

to promote grow of coraline algae, dose calcium..if i m nt wrong..

The black part could be due to dead sponges or encrusting sponges>?

Just have strong lights, high calcium levels and high kH and you coralline will come back in no time. ;)

Always something more important than fish.
