Lyretail Wrasse

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

A friend of mine got a Lyretail Wrasse and put it into my tank yesterday.

Is it a safe fish for a reed tank? As in will they nip/eat corals and bite the tails of other fishes?

I have read about it on the internet but still would like to hear from members here if they have any experience keeping it.

BTW, this fish gave my Sailfin tang ICH.... now i go and kill the ich.... haiz

Thanks all.

lyretail wrasse, i am assuming it is thalassoma lunare? These are other wise known as moon wrasses or lunar wrasses. grows large, not reef safe as will eat inverts, but leave corals alone. Quite peaceful but may be abit aggressive as it grows larger.
