SRC Member Hon Posted December 15, 2003 SRC Member Share Posted December 15, 2003 mv3i, You going to have a hard time twisting the front cover out to clean the propellor..... Careful dun grip the strainer area to hard, it will break easily ..

SRC Member Tanzy Posted December 15, 2003 SRC Member Share Posted December 15, 2003 It's very interesting to see that there's a kind of brown algae that likes growing in the high flow area near the outlet of the Stream. Dip that sucker in vinegar and enjoy the look of 'new' Streams in the tank. At the minimum you MUST clean the grating or the flow will be decreased. SRC Member Tanzy Posted December 16, 2003 SRC Member Share Posted December 16, 2003 If you can't get hold of pure acetic acid then the next safest and best bet will be to use cooking vinegar. Give the grating a light scrub to remove the slime and submerge the thing into warm vinegar. Don't dilute unless it is pure acetic acid. Quote Warning: Heavy handed moderator in operation.
