hi.. i got a extra 1.5ft tank..wish to convert it to a sump. can i noe wad is needed in it? LR and equipments.

how to return water frm sump?

how to take in water frm main tank and transfer to sump?

first of all, do u have a drilled bottom and overflow compartment in ur main tank as of the moment? if not, you would need an overflow box and only then u can start planning about ur sump... but it would be good.....

Well...you have to partition your tank.

The size of the partitions is dependent on what filter media you want to use and the size of the return pump (if you intend to put inside sump). The return pump is used to return water to your main tank.

Reef_guy is right to recommend i-box. If you do not have a overflow box, there is no way for you to get water out from your main tank. Unless you empty your main tank and build in an overflow box. Water come down to the sump thru gravity.

Tt is what I have learnt from all the experts here. Hope it helps.
