FuEl
beeeccoooosss ? sorry have no idea why When you put the rock in your tank, your water does'nt even become cloudy. Next day, undetectable ammonia. That's the price you pay for fully cured liverock, without pests and lots of coralline growth. And for that, they charge a huge premium. I think the $40/kg is their tonga rocks. Not sure if they have any fiji rocks. SRC Member peacemaker Posted January 13, 2010 SRC Member Share Posted January 13, 2010 IMO, $20 per kg is really expensive for normal rocks... Fiji rocks would seem more reasonable, but I'm not too familiar with the rates.

Even if they are normal rock, they are very very high quality rock. Terryz_
Think the price increased quite a lot... Used to be $16 per kg years ago when I asked... Bro, how is the spread of the lights? SRC Member DrJekyl_MrHyde Posted January 14, 2010 SRC Member Share Posted January 14, 2010 Livestocks. 2 x Leander plumosus shrimp. 2 x Dicordipinna griessingeri gobies. These will be held in my other tanks first while I let this pico tank settle down. The shrimps are cute...

FuEl
Forgot to add that the livestocks have been added since I had no ammonia spike. The hang-on filters were seeded with established biohome from my other marine tanks. The grissengeri gobies love hiding below the rocks. Lucky I opted for bare-bottom. If the tanks had sand I doubt I would see the gobies. I only see mine like once in a blue moon to serve as a reminder that I still have this fish. FuEl
Some new additions Ponape birdnest. Tiger sponge for filtration. Read somewhere that these animals are able to take up D.O.C. Thought I would give it a try since I am not running a skimmer. FuEl
Right side of tank. I got an Acropora echinata placed direct under the outflow of the hang-on filter. Full tank shot. SRC Supporter Joe_P Posted January 16, 2010 SRC Supporter Share Posted January 16, 2010 Good placement for the echinata. not really a easy piece to sustain. Hopefully some strong flow and excellent water parameters would do it some good.
