Thinking of getting a blasto but are the fast growers,do they take in alot of calcium too?Are blasto fraggable too?

Blastos are pretty slow growers at least mine are...

Not sure how much calcium they take in but not too much in my opinion.

Blastos are fraggable. :eyebrow:

blastomussa merletti are very easy to frag as these grow on branches. they grow relatively fast for this species.

the other most commonly encountered blasto is blastomussa wellsi. these have connected coralites and make fragging very difficult unless you use a dremel saw, or dont mind losing a few heads with a hammer and a chisel. these grow very much slower. i have a colony with 5 heads that grew an extra 5 heads in the course of 7 months. the new heads are very small though and take a long time to grow bigger. growing new heads are easy. waiting for the new heads to grow to large size, is a long process....

You have to feed very often if you want them to sprout new heads fast, but they dun build new skeleton structure like merletti that fast even if u r running a calcium reactor.

You can go down to GO..sometimes they offer 4 blastos for $100 during lelong period....can place them together to form a blasto garden.
