TFMANIAC
I took the pictures at night.. so most of them were hiding in the rocks. I'll try to take more pictures when they are feeding and moving around. They simply love to chomp down on algae wafers. It's really cool to see 3 or 4 of them clustering around one wafer. I need to get some pictures of their feeding behaviour. Look out for it soon. TFMANIAC
These guys are hard to photograph... not only are they tiny but they scurry so terribly fast. Here are a few individuals that I picked for a quick photoshoot. SRC Member qwertman321 Posted January 9, 2010 SRC Member Share Posted January 9, 2010 hey do you have spare shells in your tank? if not , if the hermit crab gets too big, it will kill other shell creature to obtain their shells.
TFMANIAC
From my experience, the little scarlets don't grow any bigger than 10 cent coins... I do have spare little shells around which i'll be tossing into their tank. TFMANIAC
yup I've personally seen them at CF I got these from a friend though. I'm planning to keep a Hermit Haven.. but it's all in my sump. I guess it's gonna be quite cramped after a while... The main tank is a 4ft X 2ft X 2.5ft Fowlr. TFMANIAC
Well my Hermits are all accounted for and doing really well... Picked up some small empty shells the last time I was at the beach and some of the hermits have changed their homes. I guess it's a good sign that they are at least growing a little considering how little they grow anyway.
