Tropic Marin test Kits are very good but expensive.

Currently I am using Sera Test Kits which are reasonably good and the main reason I am using them is that I can get a very special price for them. :P

actually i hate it i wont the the reading of my nitrate like for expamle its 2.5 mg but i will only read higher than 0 but less than 5 . i hate the sera ph test kit too . lets say my ph is 8.3 but i will only know that it is higher than 8 but less than 8.5. however their test tube is quite good. i know im picky and very slective about my test kits but i have very high standards and like to get an exact , accrate measurement of my tank parameter . i think i will try the tropic marine test kits

lol just joking friend.

Just make sure you calibrate your monitor before use.

for nitrate, I think all test kit is about the same. It prob does not matter if your tank has 2 ppm or 6 ppm.

but when you see it climb over months to above 30 , then perhaps the alarm should go off.

But being a perfectionist, you prob have your own ideas.

Keep us posted on how tropic marine test kit fare and how it compares with API.

Hi bro just afew question don't mind

1. How long have u been reefing and testing water parameter to judge

2. In long term investment of the standard u're looking for the two product

1.) American Marine Pinpoint Nitrate Monitor

2.) American Marine Pinpoint pH Monitor

aren't so expensive as u can monitor it and just change the probe after a yr or so, as for calibrate just 3mths once heard this brand not bad and long lasting

and lastly you'll be a great help to alot of reefer if u can state more product which u've been using and the compare result will stay tune on ur posting

cheers & happy reefing

well actually what im trying to do is top use different types of brands . since im very junior, i amtrying to use that period of three years to gain experience, try out different brands see if my initial judgement is correct about api.after that period i will gain more experience and can give proper advice to other reefers who are looking for good test kits i will try to use other brands but i have to finish using each brand . my parents arent paying for the test kits so i have to depend on my pocket money to buy more test kits. no kid who has a reef tank can ever afford the american marine pinpoint moniter unless one is a very rich kid
