Keeping corals within the range of 26 - 28 is a good guide... 29.5 is considered relatively high... Do some reading up on the corals that you have or going to purchase.. there are many sites that states their temperature requirements (eg Liveaquaria)... The temperature requirements may not be very accurate e.g. Ricordea Yuma is stated as requiring a temperature of between 22 to 25.5 degC on liveaquria. Frankly where the Yuma is collected at (Philippines/Indonesia), the temperature will seldom if ever reach 22 degC. In fact according to liveaquria, all corals are supposed to be kept at temperatures between 22 to 25.5 degC. SRC Member [V]tEc Posted February 5, 2010 SRC Member Share Posted February 5, 2010 anything below 30 degree is okie for most corals. the trick is to have stable temp. not like day time 29 night time 25 too large diff temp range often stress corals more than having stable temp..... personally, i m keeping my tank at 27 - 28degree.....used to keep it at 26-27.....i noe of someone who told me he keeping sps n zoas at 29degree. lemon should know him too.....
