SRC Member arcanehacker Posted December 31, 2009 SRC Member Share Posted December 31, 2009 No choice the most practical solution is one our neighbours won't be happy with us pursuing. :nuke: :nuke: But I reckon we (and the rest of the global community) will be even less happy with them if they pursue it. We don't really have the space for enough Solar farms and Wind Turbines. So ultimately Singapore striving to to be a green city still kills the earth with the constant and increasing need for oil?.. nice.. the increase in oil price only make people pay more to the govt and never to reduce.. increasing number of people with cars is a great example.. Quote Why do we use "My 2 cents worth" when 1 cents are not legal tender in Singapore anymore? Shouldn't it be 5 cents worth? SRC Member tian1974 Posted April 21, 2010 SRC Member Share Posted April 21, 2010 question: my skimmer is 28W and running for 24 hours. So based on calculation of 28x24=672. 672/1000=0.672kWh. 0.672x30days=20.16. Based on current tariff 0.2521cents, so my skimmer skims me 20.16x0.2521=$5.08? my calculation correct or not? Not sure about your calculation. But hey, do you need to have it on 24 hours? Currently for me, I just turn it on at night till morning. Let's say about 11 hours. Quote () Happy will do ... Currently for me, I just turn it on at night till morning. Let's say about 11 hours. No harm done leaving it on 24/7 especially with the kind of bioload you guys have It also helps with aeration. I'm sure majority of us leave it on 24/7, some switch it off during feeding or when adding some additives into tank. Quote My old 3ft

Boss has a pinned thread on this already http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=80504 Pasted here yo make things easier. For eg. Product A has Power Consumption of 10 Watts Product A Power Consumption : 10 Watts/1000 = 0.01kWh 0.01kWh X No. of hours used per day X No. of days used in a month = (Value)kWh Amount to be paid per month = (Value)kWh X Tariff rate so 28/1000*24*30*0.2521 = $5.08 you're right!
