SRC Member digibee Posted January 28, 2010 Author SRC Member Share Posted January 28, 2010 I killed 2 of mine. left one as an exhibit.either epoxy over it or take a sharp toothpick, poke it straight into the mouth when it is opened wide, twist and turn the toothpick. it will melt and die instantly. Wow, not sure I can do that ... May be just dip it in freshwater and let it come off the rock. I can't tell a good anemone from a majano anemone!! LFS still sell majano!! Quote () Happy will do ... Senior Reefer yikai Posted January 28, 2010 Senior Reefer Share Posted January 28, 2010 majanos are never good..... there are some that look nicer and more decorative only. that's all. the good thing about majano is that they move slowly and reproduce slowly... compared to aiptasia. however, like most anemones, they CAN move and will move if they don't like where they are. most of the time one assume they don't move because they are already in a favourable place. they are also harder to kill than aiptasia IMO..... don't leave any bits behind when killing because these bits and pieces can and MAY grow into new ones. i prefer them over aiptasias. aiptasias are just horrible... spread and grow so fast

SRC Member digibee Posted January 29, 2010 Author SRC Member Share Posted January 29, 2010 Hi, the majano anemone is gone; I put the liverock with majano on it into a pail of fresh water; After about 15 minutes; the majano became smaller and disintegrate (dissapear!). A little bit wierd and spooky! Anyway, I have reduced my bio-load a little; by giving away the melarnus wrasse (getting big and nipped at my zoas) and the large green brain coral. Brown algae starting to take over my tank. Tried Bioclean yesterday ... see how it goes ... Quote () Happy will do ... (o_o)

Ok, saw its body yesterday night; and managed to pull it off the rock. By the way, my Vortech MP40 could not go into feed mode this morning. Anyone got this experience; care to guide me? It is still functioning; just that when I press the mode button for a few seconds; it does not go into blinking white light; it went into red blue light. Let me know if anyone out there know how to fix this. Thanks! Quote () Happy will do ... (o_o)

Thanks! did u try resetting? if it still does not work, then can try master resetting: to do the Master reset, just follow below simple step, but need 2 person: 1st hold mode (pump blinks white) after that hold mode and press set button together (pump blinks yellow/white) last step ask someone pull out the power cord (without release the hold mode & set button) then put it back in and it should be back to normal Quote Eqpt: Deltec MCE 600, Tunze 6055 with Tunze 7091 controller, Artica 1/15 HP chiller, AquaIllumination Sol Blue LED Light System 2011 resolution : Do it simpler, better and in an easier way! Doubt that you will be able to pin any healthy fish beneath or between rocks. Possibility of that happening is really quite slim. Suspect that it is hiding somewhere. Give it time and it should appear. SRC Member digibee Posted January 31, 2010 Author SRC Member Share Posted January 31, 2010 Hiya, very sad ... Went to search again just now in the dark using torch light ... The flamehawk was in between the glass of the IOS front piece!! I thought it is still alive; but sad to say ... it was dead already when I push it out using a long carton board. Hmmm... why must the IOS have this extra piece of glass for the gap? I have already use netting to close the top part; .... did not know there is gap from below also!! Nothing to say... Thanks, going to get some plastic wire mesh later during lunch time to block off the gap of the front piece IOS. Your tank is huge; so I think your fish may be missing and re-appear now and then. But if it is a school of fishes; better keep all fingers crossed! Wonder when can I get a nice small flamehawk again... Missing my one already... Quote () Happy will do ... If not, nevermind; maybe can bring when you are getting frags from Creetin. I bought a pouch from Daiso, which has cloth netting on 1 side. Thought will try to use that to stuff the gap. Thanks!
