Hey Luke,

nice to see your tank finally. Very nice.

The spare space on the left of the cabinet will definitely come in handy

especially when you are feeding suns, doing maintenance etc.

I keep my additives next to my tank for convenience and reminder sake.

Yeah, spare space is very useful.

Currently used it to read manuals and put cloths to clean the tank and cabinet

I think I need another small cabinet to put other stuff .... gotta visit ikea again!

(-_-) Happy will do ... (o_o)

Can't put anything permanent there; suppose to open up to release hot air

Also, all my electrical plugs are above the chiller in the small compartment.

By the way, don't know hot to frag yet!

BTW, I find my tank and cabinet too big for my living room .... maybe not use to it yet.

another few months and you will find it too small.

Then you will get another tank to fill the length of the cabinet.

Arsenal winning?

I dun support Arsenal but really dun want Man U to win this year.

So I am a Arsenal & Chelsea supporter part time this year.....

Sorry, there is no step by step pics of the tank setup and cycling ... etc.

I have took a couple of pics to post and cut the story short.

Have been quite busy lately;

Anyway, second pic ... please ignore diapers in the background :paiseh:

There is a mini reno in my house at the moment.

post-16860-1263044416_thumb.jpg

Closer look at the sump ...

post-16860-1263044431_thumb.jpg

By the way, my maxspect could not be hang with the two aluminium rod.

Not shown in the pics.

I have to ask them to redo a simple T bar which will take about a week.

Also, since I already have my live rocks and a couple of livestock in the tub;

I do not need to do any cycling of water right? Just to double confirm.

I am using NSW. Thanks!

Pls comment and questions.

Cheers!

Very nice tank........bro can pm me the tank maker contact and price pls......

Finally see your tank up! :P I like the tank but a bit wasted leh.. 2 ft tank on 3.5ft cabinet... i think u have expansion plan in mind is it?! :P

Anyway, using the livesand from caribsea and NO is good... helps cycling fast... our tank is cycled in about 1 week.. as we also have live rock and a refrigum (no live sand but dosed with some bacteria tablets).

Went to get biohome + today.

post-16860-1263137053_thumb.jpg

I read that it is best to put at the last sump compartment where the water is being pump back to the tank.

So I did not remove my coral chips.

Any opinion on this?

Also bought this bacteria dose.

Gave the dose earlier; but see no change in Nitrate and Phosphate.

Currently only test this 2 things.

By the way, comycus is right; my all in one API test kit already expired end of last year!

So threw it away already.

post-16860-1263137063_thumb.jpg

Btw, already scape the liverocks; but somehow do not like it; so did not take the picture just yet.

Will rescape later; AND also put in a couple of my livestocks ..... coz one of my clownfish does not looks that well in the tub.

So .... in he went into the tank!

See, there is a white patch on one of them. and he keeps floating sideway.

post-16860-1263137949_thumb.jpg

Also, put in this Melanurus Wrasse; been with me for a few months already; very hardy and greedy wrasse.

post-16860-1263137116_thumb.jpg

This tuxedo urchin looks like very happy in the new tank.

post-16860-1263137088_thumb.jpg

Still got a couple of my old corals and a red fish in my tub.

Thinking of transfering those as well .... but then again; better wait for a couple of days and see how those that

I have put in fare.

Also have to thanks lemonlemon for a couple of his corals.

Cheers!

Hey Luke,

For the 2026 that you sold me, I removed all the coral chips and ceremic rings. replaced them with Biohomes :)

So there you go ... thats my preference.

bro I would still remove the coral chips coz they are nitrate factory.

As long as your mechanical filtration is good, the biohome can put at the end of the first compartment also.

Show us what your tank looks like now! so exciting!

Wah really?

In that case need to buy more kg of biohomes to to replace

those chips. Guessed have to do that this weekend.

Fts later yeah, still rescaping live rocks,

the IOS d*mn big, not much space for rock scaping.

You can add as much biohome as you want, but the bacteria colony in your tank will reach an optimal amt regardless of how much extra biohome you have. Doesn't mean more space for bacteria to colonise means will have more bacteria.

So no need to waste too much $ on additional biohome. If you are really kiasu, I think 2kg is the max your 2ft will really need.
