BH is spot-on.

For the 3x250w MHs, Im using BLV 10kk bulbs. For the T5s, 2 x 80w Pure Actinics and 2 x 80w Actinic Plus (Deltec/ATI bulbs). Hope that helps.

Updates to lighting config. Now using BLV 14kk instead of the 10kk. Been running it for a few days now. Very pleased with the whiter look when compared to the 10kk :)

However, time will tell if the corals like it as much as I do.. hehe

Hi Madmac,

The BLV 10kk is a tad yellow while the 14kk is "purer" with a bit more in the blue, hence it appears to be whiter. I have run the 10kk BLV, and without actinic, looks a bit too warm for my taste. The 14kk is clean and fresh.

Alfa- I switched over to the BLV 14kk from the old Hamiltons 14kk, and personally I prefer the hams more. There is a sharp blueness to the colour (not to the point of radiums) but it really is nice, esp the floro greens and my huge red prata. But it does seem to be not as bright as the BLVs though.

Hi bro, your regal angel does not eat or disturb the corals?! I asked cuz I put in a Elegance and hammer in my tank and the majestic and aspher angels wacked it immediately and killed them. But did not see my regal touching them. Is regal anegl reef safe? Are there any coral reef safe angels? Because of what happened I am thinking of keeping tangs only for my new reef tank. All advise are welcome! Thanks!

Changed my lighting setup 1 week ago:

3 x 250W MH & 4 x 80W T5

to

10 x 80W T5s

I underestimated the power of the T5s and ended up with a few bleached SPS and burnt tips. Have raised the lights and will do proper lighting acclimatization. :(
