Phew, managed to grab my LR which was at CF this morning before they close. Didnt want to have an empty tank for the next 4-5 days.. hehehe

Have sort of finished the scaping of the LR and will post pics soon.

the height of the LR seem low maybe can increase it higher and then have more sand bed expose...

why does th LR looks so white? You bought from Gilbert of CF right? Their stuff are good but yours is a little on the white side.

Blenny, its suppose to be another form of Coralline algae from deeper waters according to CF.. and also the rocks were sitting in CF's tanks for about 2 months already so i suspect that alot of Coralline algae already died or vanished..

Have finally gotten both of my return pumps online.

Eheim 1262 returns from the sump straight to the main tank

Eheim 1260 pumps thru the TR chiller to the main tank

Total flowrate 5800L/Hr more or less.. more like 5000L/Hr maybe. Hope its sufficient turnover rate..

Also added a very big tiger prawn which i swiped from my Mum's Fridge to jumpstart the cycling process.

Tested the water and these are the parameters so far:

Sg: 1.022

Ca: 420

KH: 8.6

Didnt bother testing for Ammonia and the rest yet... i know it will be high..

Shanged the landscaping slightly based on the valuable feedback from fellow reefers and will post new pics soon. Thinking of getting more LRs too to build up on the ht of the reef structure

Don't use too big a tiger prawn.... you don't want to crash your tank with ammonia poisoning!

AT, any symptoms that i should look out for in case I used too big a prawn to jumpstart?

Nice rockscaping... suggest you make more horizontal ledges (for coral placements) rather than steep vertical walls. Unless you want to see a lot of LR.

Tested calcium again and it seems to be dropping.. looks like maybe my coralline algae is consuming it and hopefully spreading..Algae is also forming on the rocks but sandbed looks ok for the time being.

huge looking tank and very good for rockscaping.. when I had my six footer I formed the LR's in the center of the tank so that both sides could be viewed but with alot of patience and backaches later..he..he. Great Job...Alfa. My tank currently sits on a beam as well , so you don't have to worry about the weight Alfa.
