Thanks..

do i need to get rid of it? i mean is it bad for fish n corals or do i let it be?

Best to take it out.

Once it is allowed to hide in the nooks and crannies of your LR and starts to grow, it'll start shifting / pushing your rocks and corals etc. And start 'ambushing' the smaller fishes / shrimps in your tank.

Scientific name: Pilumnus vespertilio

Most reefers play it safe and gets rid of them. I've personally seen one with a 3 inch shell in a bro's reef tank.

I am inclined to keep it. I tried googling on it and there was no information to strongly suggest I should get rid of it. So the bro that kept it, didnt have a problem with his fish, corals n their stress levels?

If a man could beat his own fantasy. Then to only breed in captivity. Then its pointless.

Genesis 1:20

And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that has life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. And God created great whales, and every living creature that moves, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

The bro never notice the crab and found out about it only when he was was removing his live rocks (decom). Nonetheless, you'll never know when they will kill one of your livestock. crabs are opportunistic feeders. If a fish is sickly or gets too close, the crab will think it's fair game.

The choice is yours. But if you have a sump you can just let it stay in your sump and it'll contribute as a clean up crew.
