was looking at those previously. I think the glass is too thin for saltwater tanks.

Are you looking for all in one tanks? You can check out JBJ and RSM (RedSeaMax).

Especially if you are looking to keep FOWLR, I think you should go for self customized tank. Reason being you will likely have heavy stocking of fishes and will need a much better skimmer than the stock one provided for these setups.

Of course if $$ is not an issue, check out ELOS

Before jumping the gun, just wanna check. Have you researched enough on marine fish systems to bite the bullet? I apologize if I'm jumping to conclusion, but you sound like you have almost zero knowledge and want to keep a FOWLR coz a friend is letting go of his Juwel system at rock bottom price. Keeping FOWLR only is not as easy as putting in seawater, live rock and fish. Pls research and read up more if you have not done so.

Next, I checked the Juwel rekford 70 and like what Jacky has mentioned, it is not suitable for marine tanks. One, glass too thin to support additional weight of live rocks and saltwater. Two, it doesn't have a skimmer. Three, it has whimsical lights that will not support most soft corals, which btw normally require moderate to strong lighting.

If you do get the tank, you will be taking a huge risk of coming home to a cracked tank and flooded living room. If that doesn't happen, you will want to install a hang on back skimmer, diy a stronger lighting hood, get a return pump to hook up to chiller. (Yes you need to keep a chiller if you want to keep corals, including soft corals. Heat builds up, especially more in your closed hood system.) Your alternative can be to install fans to cool down the tank.

OR you can self customize. If you ask me, I think you save more $ and effort with this option.

Lastly, if you don't know what you are getting yourself into, you will waste more $ with lifestock, and end up killing fishes.

You can camp ard pasar malam section. Good deals do come and go when owners decide to decom or upgrade. Can take the time to research more too.

Can check out Tansk's tank. Don't know if his is sold, but it's a beautiful tank. I've seen it in person, and it's less than a year old if I'm not wrong.

Maybe you will want to take a look at this thread. Owner decom already but this tank is definitely a tank that nobody here would advise you to buy.

Simply tank bought from a Rainbow and yet he's successful in his SPS. If memory serve me right, his tank is also a Jewel tank.

Meaning, tank thinness and whatever is either a myth or some pple just have a "lemon" tank that is bought straight off the shelf. The thread I link is a proof to that thinness of the tank may not be as important as you think if it's just 3' or so.

Need more examples to counter that? I read of someone here with a 4ft tank who had against the norm glass thinness who also managed to keep a great looking tank.

If TS wants to go ahead with it, can also follow in the footsteps of the successful reefer in the link you provided. Add lights, add sump, add skimmer, add chiller etc. His choice. We just try to provide as accurate as possible a scenario so he can get a clearer picture. If we miss out something, somebody else can contribute too. Tt's the beauty of this forum. Let's not ruin it with unnecessary comments.

ya bro it all depend like i brought a QT which u saw before it just bout 3-4mm thick more over it acylic it also able to hold the water and coral chip without problem for more then 9mths liao

Thinness will never cause a tank to break but a scratch or a small non-visible crack will after long period of time or another impact to the same point.
