It started when i felt that freshwater tanks are no more a challenge for me. Thats when i visited an old LFS at Farmart and caught the reef bug. As a newbie that time, i slowly upgraded my 2ft wrought iron with plastic tank to a few other systems that i can lay my hands on. As the craving for upgrade widens, the deeper the hole in the pocket is. To cut the story short, I decom my tank before enlisting into NS and promised myself that once i passed out, i'll get the system that i want. So i chance upon this 2feet tank selling at a steal price and i grab it as fast as i could. I'll try my best to update on week to week basis and post a FTS every week to monitor the growth of the tank.

SRC Member jem Posted December 8, 2009 Author SRC Member Share Posted December 8, 2009 Already dead tired now.. Fixed up the tank when i reached home from work yesterday.. Added liverocks and salt.. Installed the equipments. Plugged in the chiller.. When i went to work today, maid called up and said that theres a leak from somewhere.. need to rush home during lunchbreak to rectify the problem.. praying hard that the leak is most likely at the input and output of the chiller nozzle.. most suspected it from there.. Please let it not be the main tank or sump where it may be leaking. Keeping my finger crossed

SRC Member jem Posted January 14, 2010 Author SRC Member Share Posted January 14, 2010 About a month have passed.. Thanks to my itchy fingers, i bought a couple of livestock which 90% of them died in my tank. It might be due to my negligence and me being stubborn to use back my dead rocks and reuse sand from another reefer's decommed tank.. The leak in toxic must be high. The current livestock residing in my tank are -1 Amphiron Occelaris -1 Yellow Wrasse(Comes out in the afternoon when im not around zzzz) -1 Sebae Anemone (Which hides at the back of my right rock structure and my clown refuses to host it) -1 GSP -2 Rocks of mushies

SRC Member jem Posted January 14, 2010 Author SRC Member Share Posted January 14, 2010 15/1/2010 Sump... The sump area is rather cramp up due to the limited space. Im gonna try growing chaeto in the middle of the sump compartment to help reduce nitrates. But first i need to settle on my skimmer As you can see, with such limited space, finding a skimmer was a super challenge for me. The skimmer in the photo is totally useless and i'll be upgrading it soon. Thought of the Deltec MCE600 and Deltec APF600 but both are still huge in size.. As i only have 6"length and 23" height to play with, it caused me big headache to source for a skimmer..
