fully agree with the long speech bro reddevilz made. my tank since day 1 has never been dosed with ANY chemicals except AZ-NO3. i dont believe in reefsafe medication too. the active ingrediant to kill parasites has to be non-reef safe in the first place. with that in mind, how can the medicine be reefsafe? [prevention is still the best cure.

i notice if u dose when skimmer is on,its almost as good as not effective.

the recommanded time to leave the solution is 6hrs

and skimmer off 1hr during dosing.

but sometimes i leave it on 2-3hrs. and see very good effect.almost like overnight effect.

Hi Bro ReDDeviLs

Thanks for sharing your experience of using the Zeovit Zeozym with reefers. As you know, I'm currently using Zeozym to rid my tank of red slime algae which covered my fiberglass areas, live rocks & gravels. Started dosing last Friday using 2 teaspoonful of the powdered stuff mixed with 0.5L of tank water. Reef Depot recommended dosing once a week. I plan to dose twice a week until the nuisance algae disappeared. Is it enough? How many times did you dose a week when you had an algae outbreak? If you read the instructions on the product, it says to dose daily until the problem is resolved.

It's safe to dose daily. My redslime outbreak covered my entire sandbed. 2 doses, once a week and gone within 2 weeks. I suppose you can start off with 2-3 times weekly and increase/decrease dosage as you see fit?

Hi Bro Comycus

During the treatment period, did you bother to continue manually removing the nuisance algae? I'm assuming you started removing them even before treatment. Or did you let the biological process take care of them when treatment starts? I'm still removing them but it is very time-consuming & tiring work.

Hmm... I actually never had to remove it... They just disappeared into thin air. Dunno what happened to them. Same thing happened to a rock that I got when buying a coral from a fellow reefer. The red slime covered the entire rock but just got smaller and smaller day by day for about 1-2 weeks, leaving the rock completely devoid of algae. Amazing!

But if you have too much algae and it starts floating ard, it would be good to clear it. Just part of the husbandry process I guess.

One final question. Now that your algae problem is resolved, do you still dose zeozym once a week as a preventive maintenance measure? Or you have put the product aside to be used when necessary? Thanks.

Too expensive to use la... Besides I only had a small sample. Butif you want to test the results in nitrate reduction can use and let us know? Might not be practical but good to know :)

bro comycus ans most of your qns.

for ur last qns, u can get the zeovit brand coral snow and mix with zeozym to feed ur corals wkly, can consider maintaining as well as feeding ur corals!

i think u can half the normal dosage when feeding ur corals and maintaining the algae. juz prevention only :)

Seems like a good idea. A 2-in-one function. But let's see whether Zeozym works for my system. Thanks for the suggestion.

It is a good idea to test for nitrate level after a period of dosing Zeozym. Will do that after problem is resolved. Not a problem to keep reefers updated on the efficacy of this product.

2. LED clip on - 120 bulbs

-skimmer-less-

My 3 humble equipments that keeps my tank running... [DRIED OUT]

1. The RSM itself of course 2.My NEW Deltec MCE-300 Skimmer 3. My trusty Arctica Chiller

Tank parameters:

Temperature maintained at 25.3'C to 24.7'C

No3: 10ppm(b4 the use of the deltec skimmer)

No3: 5ppm (after use of the skimmer)

hi bro, its not true that flow will not help.

but from what bro greenmariner mentioned, and afew reefers including myself have experience. flow will not solve the problem totally.

my former tank was running 1xvortec,3xtunze 6100,1x wavebox,1x reddragon 2,1x reddragon 10m3. total flow more then 35000L/hr

i still get them :P
