Nicely done! I've just tested my 17 LEDs 3W SSC setup on my 2ft tank. Didn't expect it to be so bright.

Btw, can I ask what type of fan do u use? How do u wire the fan? Does the fan share the same PS?

Hi bro,

Fan can get from Sim lin and wiring is very simple...2 wires; Positive and Negative unless you buy those come with 3 wires which the third one is use for control purpose. Regards to PS, I would advice to use separate PS as fan current is normally lower than 3W LED.

For me, I connect my 9~10Vdc PS to my 2 fans and at the same time link to the dimmer control of the Meanwell PS( to LED).

If fan PS fails, Meanwell PS switch off the output so.....LED off too to protect the LEDs overheated.

Connect your fans to a separate power supply.

The front and back of the light case.These will hold the LED mounting plate as well as the top fan cover and splash proof acrylic clear cover

Hi Bro,

Generally I recomend to use 3 mm thick aluminium plate if your total LED is less then 100 pieces.

For large led light fixture I highly recomend to use 1.5 inch thick heatsink

LED light casing is very heavy as compare to other light casing.There is no alternative to this.

I have not try but they look less bright than the 3 watt.(Something I do not understand)

If any bro had the 10 w led from Sim Lim we can always do a side to side

comparison and measurement

You can find some shops near kelantan road selling these aluminium sheet. They can cut to size for u. The shops are under those HDB block type.

So big piece may not have.But you can try.Sim Lim Tower 3rd floor beside the escalator

Try to use 2 to 3 mm thick aluminium plate. Do not use galvanise sheet.This is for the led mounting

@ 1cm distance, reading after firing more than 5mins is 250K lx.

1x 10W blue LED;

@ 10cm distance, reading after firing for 5mins is 150K lx.

@ 1cm distance, reading after firing more than 5mins is 8K lx.

What is your view on this specs?

I cannot remember the reading but will try to do a measurement over the weekend.

Normally we take reading at 20 inch.

Also blue and white reading is either the same or a bit less depending on the blue bucket you

select.

Your reading look a bit weird.

Look like inconsistant reading.

Do u think it will be better in terms of heatsink if we use a thicker plate?

Btw, on the 5ft fixture, the side wall material, are u using wood or acrylic? if acrylic, how thick did u make it to be sturdy to support the 5ft fixture?

Thicker also about the same performace but heavier.

If you want better performance go for heat sink.

Side wall you can use anything as long as it is rigid enough for the length.

For plastic or acrylic choose the high temperature type.

I use aluminium and use 10 mm for the wall.

For 5 ft length it is very heavy
