Trench... not koi la..it's giant oranda goldfish... apparently each can grew an inch a month till abt 1 feet.

Original plan is to keep koi but i think our water feature not deep enough, min shd be 3 ft or more and too small... koi can grow to about 1 meter or more... and up to 200 years..

get some top view ranchus or comet goldfish, they look like koi but smaller (mine grow from a 2cm to my forearm length)

Yeah, I was thinking of getting top grade Japanese Ranchu... but too expensive.. lets see how long we can maintain the Giant Oranda then see how... top grade ranchu is like 500-1000 each for 3-4inches size...

Fair enough. You at least need some guppies or mosquito fish as mosquito control.

i bought 20 neon tetras and her dad bought some longkang fishes...while we cycle! lol..

Haha... no la... Koi and Goldfishes are cousins anyway... all under carp family if i not wrong. Also, the goldfish we bought is a little like koi as in one of it is called Tanchu.. red head white body

I finally manage to dug out my Olympus cam for some underwater shots.. this was taken under blue leds.. the tank had gone to moonlight but I quickly flipped on the blue light for a while just to see whether the pics would turn out nicer.. will take underwater pics next time... but here's some pics of some corals whereby the color shows out ALLOT better than previous pics. WIll take more pics another time of the zoos Dr Ang sold to me..

Haven't upadted for a while so here's some pics to start off the New Year of 2011. My prata in the last pic does not seem to be opening up... been feeding coral food and mysis to it but somehow it seems to be shrink rather than expand and be nice and fluffy.

shift your prata to a low flow low light area first....should open up after a while...just make sure no fish pecking on it...esp wrasse...hur hur

Hey Tench, it's a normal RBTA... and I surrounded it with zoos and a tonga torch as my Tomato clown constantly flips the sand away so to prevent him from doing so... I surround him with corals to prevent that gangster of a fish from flipping sand!

Yeah the AT is really making itself feel at home.. Swimming around all the time, pecking and grazing on the rocks constantly... loving the Nori and pellets that fall down..

My golden rhmboid which had passed on because of the swollen eye and NOW my Yellow Tang has swollen eye .. I just realised it about 2 days ago when I shone my torch light into the tank at night and saw how BIG the YT's eye was! What on earth is going on.. is this some sort of an illness that could spread from fish to fish OR it's an accident like it scratched itself or something and it has to heal on it's own? ARUGH!!!

swollen eye probably due to internal bacteria infection...there's medicine to stop this
