i think ur bioload is still okie for ur tank size. i have the same number of fishes in my 4ft. biggest fish is a 6inch black tang. my NO3 is currently at 20. trying to bring down using sulfur denitrator. but i also have abt 100kg of live rocks. reason for ur high NO3 may be due to u using very little LR as i can see most of ur rocks r replica rocks.... maybe u can try getting biohome to dump into ur sump.

yes, i was telling desi that we can put in more liverock and prob reduce feeding :P

We like to feed the fishes, esp when they just gone in.. but will reduce the feeding a little

Have you tried using Prodibio Bio Clean/Bio Digest? Seems to be effective in reducing the NO3. Also, you can try AZ NO3 to get the nitrates down but it will take around 2-3 weeks.

My Setup:

3x2x2 tank with IOS

Equipment List:

Chiller: Artica 1/5HP

Chiller Pump: Sicce 4000

Return Pump: OR3500

Skimmer: Deltec APF600

Wavemaker: Tunze Wavebox/2x Hydor K2/SCWD wavemaker

Lights: DElighting 2x150W MH + 2x 39W T5 Atinic

FR: Skimz

FR Pump: Atman AT-104

Tubby ATO, Kalkweisser Reactor with magnetic stirrer.

I think your fish load is ok lei... do more % water changes to reduce it?

If I were you and I were kiasu, I would:

1) Add 1-2kg of biohome in sump

2) Dose 2 bottles worth of AZ NO3 according to instructions (prob worth 2 months for your tank)

3) Dose prodibio regularly for the next 6 months

Based on my experience, never had any problems with nitrates even with insane amount of feedings :)

Yuppers we are using Prodi Bio Digest & Bio Tim, doing it alternate week. doing WC weekly for now. Or should I dose the prodibio stuff weekly instead of bi-weekly?

Also I decided to try another product from the Coral Shop which is supposed to be their version of AZ NO3... I started on it 2 months ago but I stopped when we started trying the pbts as I didn't want to add anymore percieved stress.. so I am going to start dosing it constantly for another 2 months and see what happens... if it doesn't work, i'd try the famous : AZ NO3...

the product i'm trying is this : http://www.coral-shop.com/shop.php?code=detail&detail=221#detail

Thanks guys and I hope to bring down my NO3 to a 10-20 range from the current 50 ... or it could be even WORSE..... in 2-3 months.

;)

Cheers, ;)

U should dose Bio clean weekly if your nitrates is high. Once you get your nitrates down to 2-5ppm you can dose bi weekly.

The Coral Shop product is from GO? :eyebrow:

I used to have nitrate level of 50-100ppm in my tank. After using AZ NO3 for 2 months, I managed to bring it down to 10-20 ppm and then I used Bio Clean and brought it down to 2-5ppm.
