help on sail fin tang

i juz brought a sail fin tang, and after an hour of acclimatation, i put it into my tank..

it started to eat the algae. but wad i am worry is wad it is going to eat other than algae? vegetables? it does eat brime shrimp, i have tried it...

wad else do i need to take note of? seek advise from all tang taker... thanx...

Ich??? Feeding it algae... should be okaie.... Try feeding Mysis shrimp... more nutriention... Brine shrimp not good...

hey, mine eat everything. pellets, brine shrimps, zooplankton...seaweed...etc...almost everything lar..

Tangs are herbivore in the wild thus it is advisable to include lots of green stuiff in their meal. And green stuff can consist of nori, algae or even commercial made vegetable pellet.

new fishes not all will eat immediately.

hantam them with a variety of food, see which one they take. slowly introduce other alternate source..

uneaten/touched food, remove after 5mins..

Hey I wanted to ask the experts here the extent on which a Tang (Yellow, Sailfin etc) will clear the algae off an aquarium (whether macro or micro). My 2ft tank now has nice nice algae (both macro n micro) growing in strategic places and I wanted to add a small small Tang but I'm worried that it will wipe out all the algae in my Tank... Pls advice... Thanks...
