with opened tank, it is very impt to make sure the tank is level before pouring in the water.

(get a bubble leveller to check if you don't have one)

Else you can see the water level uneven after you have filled it up with water.

One side of he tank with higher level and the other side lower.

It is very obvious and quite an eyesore.

Yup thanks for the advise. Did you experience that problem during set-up ?

Yah my floor is pretty uneven.

Ended up cutting a small piece of rubber hose and plug in under the cabinet leg on one side.

but I forgot to check front to back.

so the levelling when I look at the front of the tank is ok.

But when viewing on the side, it is not levelled.

check all sides. pls remember :P

Seems a lot of work. I sent him an email and also got no immediate response. I did the same with 'another' one and also an email response only couple of days after. Better to call I guess. Did so after 2 days or so, he said he already read my email, and so got the job done. Overall good service and helpful i would say.

Yah he's quite ok. Got my CR, FR, and skimmer from him when I started my previous tank.

Yup. Btw, washed your tank before using ? Just water ?

I fill it up to the brim and did a water leak test.

after that just casually wash the tank with my hands using the water in it.

have you though of using artificial rocks?

I saw some at jireh today and they really look nice.

The one I saw really a cave scape with plenty of platform for corals.

if you want real live rocks, then choose those with nice shape and texture.

try not to get flat ones.

what you would like to have is to have "seamless" integration when you place one on top of the other.

So image if you put a flat piece of rock to bridge over 2 porous rock, it would look very artificial.

Your tank is rather narrow, so you might want to consider doing just a simple pyramid scape.

prob something like what Henry has in his ELOS display tank.

Sorry for being long winded. you might have process these thoughts before already :P

I am just throwing thoughts and thinking aloud.

Heres a link in case you're interested in the artificial rocks. They even provide measurements so you know which design will fit into your tank.

Thanks ! I didn't realize that the others were actually live rocks ?

Yeah their liverocks are quite nice.

Was there yesterday but most of them are quite huge pieces - not suitable for your tank.

unless I miss out some.

Yup, saw the dimensions in the site, quite big. Anyway, I'll just try my luck in scaping myself with small and medium pieces :eyebrow:

GO has small artifical live rocks in tonga form and odd shapes.

I think he has decided on using epoxy and small pcs of rock to create the scape.

Poomoon, maybe you can start looking for rocks already. Not easy to find nice small pieces.

Phew ... busy past days since i'll be going off for 3 weeks. nyweyz, for the tank :

- Tunze Nanostream in (MP10 too expensive for now, as per GF)

- Media in (Phoslock / Pur II)

- Black B/G sticker still not done (GF still want to see 'how it looks without it' after several times of convincing)

- Lights (still scouting ...)

- Reefpack and Sand coming in this weekend (unfortunately, I'll already be away) so can't start cycling :paiseh:

So here's a pic of the tank for now, and Season's Greetings to all  Still may drop in time to time when got the chance <_<
