addition of macroalgae

as per above, will the macroalgae die? or will it aid in the removal of nitrate straightaway?

asking on behalf of a friend who has no internet access and...well...I don't know the answer for this.

eh..

i tried on my tank..

i did add some algae after 2 weeks of cycling when the no3 was sky high..

my no3 dropped after 1 week of adding the algae...but i am not sure whether is it the algae or the seachem de-nitrite stuff...

many pple say the later doesnt work..

so i cant confirm the answer...

but no algae died on me during that time..
