bro got consider aluminium frame cabinet? I believe Deltec cabinets now come in this design. Strong and lightweight

I'm not so sure how strong aluminium can be. Aluminium by nature is a very soft metal. So unless they are using very thick aluminium bars which would make the cabinet very expensive, then I'm not sure how they can make it as strong as cast iron or stainless steel cabinets.

My Setup:

3x2x2 tank with IOS

Equipment List:

Chiller: Artica 1/5HP

Chiller Pump: Sicce 4000

Return Pump: OR3500

Skimmer: Deltec APF600

Wavemaker: Tunze Wavebox/2x Hydor K2/SCWD wavemaker

Lights: DElighting 2x150W MH + 2x 39W T5 Atinic

FR: Skimz

FR Pump: Atman AT-104

Tubby ATO, Kalkweisser Reactor with magnetic stirrer.

can maybe find those aluminium alloys. very strong too. and corrosion resistant as there are no traces of Iron in them.

I think I'll still use the current stand. Maybe in 2-3 years time, I might upgrade to a much larger tank. :eyebrow:

Neat set-up. :eyebrow:

(comment: The iron stand can probably last you a year or 2, afterwhich, the rust will start to appear).

Yr blasto seems to be receding (or you took pics after switching on yr lights?)..probably shift it to lower flow area.

Be prepared to scrub yr bare bottom from caroline algae if you want to maintain the clean look.

These pics were taken when T5 atinic lights just on. MH lights not on yet. Won't be going for bare bottom tank. Sand will be put in on Thursday. Victor didn't bring the live sand when he came to do the rockscape previously.

nice! you need more red in your tank... time to GO get some.. hahaha :evil::evil:

GO dun have that many red corals this time round... :eyebrow: Wait for their next shipment. Anyway, I still have a couple of corals at GO haven't collect yet. Will be going Wednesday to collect and place in my tank... :whistle

Just now my 2 maroon clowns and common clown went into the overflow...Common clown went straight down the overflow pipe and landed in the sump. The other two still swimming happily in the overflow compartment. Must get a smaller net to catch them out. :angry2:

wow bro so fast add 2 maroon clowns? not scared they terrorize your future additions?

An easy way to catch your fish out of the oveflow is to drain the compartment till water level is low. This way, can just scoop out the fishes even with your hands!

Currently the maroon clowns are still small ard 1 inch+ and the rest of the fishes are bigger than them, except for the other clown from jacky. So currently not so much issue. Anyway, if they grow bigger and become more aggressive, may just catch them out and sell off or put in my sump. :eyebrow:

So I need to drain the water into a pail and then just catch the fishes with my hands rite?

Your overflow pipe to sump is quite high right? so cannot drain the water into sump? Then yes, drain it out and catch the fish. Might wanna consider shorterning the pipe and installing a valve to control overflow water level and flow rate down into sump. I'm not so expert in this, but I think this way have more control.

btw, you haven't done an equipment list yet!

you can just put your hands in and 'trap' them to a corner of the overflow and scoop them up.. haha..

Space in the IOS is very restricted. Can only manage to put half of my arm inside so can't do it. Will get a small net later and scoop them out.

easiest way to catch the maroon in overflow.

get a large diameter tube.

siphon the water and fishes in the overflow compartment into a pail.

- minimum fuss.
