SRC Member teebs Posted December 5, 2009 Author SRC Member Share Posted December 5, 2009 heh did u go down to GO ? how was their shipment ? Haven't gone down there yet lah. Now no space in my tank. Had to search high and low for space for my black and purple suns from reborn. Once the corals sold then can make a trip down to reborn for their coming aussie shipment or GO. The pics pf the blastos are in the first few pages. I find that it is better to target feed the blastos. U can feed them with mysis shrimp, henrys or even small pieces of silver fish. But not necessary to target feed them daily, just once or twice a week is enough. The rest of the time, just flood the tank with zooplankton, copepods, artemis etc will be fine. SRC Member teebs Posted December 6, 2009 Author SRC Member Share Posted December 6, 2009 nice tank Peter... but i tot you were on some budget constraints? have a good trip to the states. the system was really stable when I was away for a month on overseas training but I think u'll need someone to come in and feed your LPS / suns. Fishes are all free... And about half the corals in the tank were included in the $500 package from Iwarna. A number of the corals were my existing corals that were in my nano tank previously so I transferred them to this tank. My wife will still be at home for about a week after I go the states so I'm getting her to feed my corals for that period. For the last 1 week, I guess they will have to go hungry...hopefully they will be fine when I get back Quote My Setup: 3x2x2 tank with IOS Equipment List: Chiller: Artica 1/5HP Chiller Pump: Sicce 4000 Return Pump: OR3500 Skimmer: Deltec APF600 Wavemaker: Tunze Wavebox/2x Hydor K2/SCWD wavemaker Lights: DElighting 2x150W MH + 2x 39W T5 Atinic FR: Skimz FR Pump: Atman AT-104 Tubby ATO, Kalkweisser Reactor with magnetic stirrer. SRC Member teebs Posted December 7, 2009 Author SRC Member Share Posted December 7, 2009 bro your mechanical filter not working? Sea cucumbers are good, but I always scared of them puking their guts out... I'm sure you can consider other cleaners? Not working too well I'm afraid. I guess I will need to get a 100 micron filter sock to capture all the detritus that comes down to my sump. I just used my cannister filter to suck out most of the detritus at the bottom of my sump. I'm thinking what other cleaners I can use to clean the sand in my tank. Sea urchin and goby could be two other alternatives I could consider. Are you using your mce on this tank or on the 2ft? I actually off the return pump when i flood my tank but somehow, quite a large quantity of uneaten food finds it's way into the sump. Surprisingly whatever food that goes to the sump is not returned to my tank via the return pump or chiller pump. I'm thinking that a 100 micron filter sock should solve most of the issues since most of what I can see are mysis shrimps, brine shrimps and frozen food. The MCE600 is used for my 2ft tank. I'm using the Deltec APF600 for this tank.
