hi, juz like to check with u guys on the feast-ability of a 1ft sump. i thinkin of making it with 2 compartment with one as a algae scrubber after the overflow and the other the return compartment. reason for such a small sump is that thinkin of getting 1ft cube tank.is additional blaffles to prevent bubbles built up required?or maybe a 1.5 ft sump be better ? the additional space could be used as a quarintine compartment with perhaps one or two mangroves .....can anyone advice?

bro 1ft cube tank hard to maintain. I suggest 1.5ft cube at least.

A 1.5ft sump will already be v. tight. You prob will only be able to house algae scrubber and return pump. Take note if you are going to build a cabinet for this, the space within the cabinet is much < than 1.5ft.

thanks for the reply bro. my idea is having a 1ft tank with a 1.5 ft sump , the amt of water would be close to that of a 2x1x1 tank.with a bigger amt of water ..the water would be more stable and i would likely to add another auto-topup and a chiller to the tank. as the display tank is so small..it would be a invert and softies tank with perhaps 2 to 3 nano fish(those really small ones henry regularly bring over),does the idea sound feastible?

Have you seen his ELOS setup? Maybe can do up a 'fake' ELOS setup if you like. I find it hard to enjoy such a small tank.

But it sounds feasible, as long as you are hardworking enough. Pico tanks, even Nano tanks are harder to maintain than normal bigger tanks.
