in simple terms:

fish waste produces ammonia

bacteria in your tank will convert ammonia to nitrite as time progresses.

another batch of bacteria will convert nitrite to nitrate.

can grown mangrooves / set up algae scrubber to reduce nitrate. (there are many other ways)

To remove ammonia, you can use zeolite. To remove nitrites/nitrates, you can use a denitrator.

just wondering... why recommend zeolite ah? Just any ordinary carbon/ammonia remover will do... Unless you wanna do a Zeovit system, and start complicating things

btw, more details pls... has tank cycled? If not, let the normal cycling process take care of ure bio filtration.

For a tank that is not properly cycled or has added livestock far too quickly, zeolite is one media that can be used to reduce the level of ammonia in the system. I do not think that carbon is used to remove ammonia from the system. Rather, it is used to remove toxic metals from the system.

It does removes ammonia bro. At least the one i use does. and most imptly, if system is not cycled properly, even with any form of ammonia remover, it will still be a disaster waiting to blow up. cannot just recommend anything too

Try to house livestock within the natural capabilities of the tank.

more live rocks, biohome are better alternatives.

more practical.
