i understand that stocking up fishes too fast is bad..

but how does stocking up fast on corals be bad on water parameters?

just curious.. haha..

will be following this your tank thread...

i read from pg1 until this current page,

rather exciting

bro craftman,

i know its very difficult to stop adding fishes so fast. im guilty of that at times too! :P

but try to minimize ur stocking each time.

from the pic, the corals like brain and zoas arent doing well.

u are relatively new to this hobby so try to go slow.

play with less demanding corals too.

as i can see you do travel at times.

so as a new tank, esp when u not arnd and there is die offs including corals and fishes, the bacteria couldnt cope and will give you alot of prob in the end.

do without sps first i would suggest.

common mistake is, when coral is dying off,we always have the mentality to try and save it. saving it also helps our wallet! but then, when it really cant make it and rots in ur tank you will have bad parameters which in turn doesnt sound worthy because other ls will all be affected.

the flow and lighting maybe too strong for ur brains.

dont be too sad if hell lotsa prob coming up later and $$ burnt! its sch fees.. we all paid it too :)

btw,ur zoas seems to have pest. keep a look out on them too!

Faster stock up... :eyebrow: I'm in the process of selecting corals to sell off first so i can get other corals in...

No offend but I dun think we should encourage others to stock up fast! Be it corals or fishes. U are doing the same to Chris. Their tank is all <3mths old (though with good equipments but still relatively unstable). We should encourage responsible reefing here in SRC..

fully agree..

there are alot of wrong info passed on to the many new reefers that just join the hobby recently.

lol this one I agree. Hopefully I stop paying sch fees le :P

I think quite a lot of LPS don't appreciate high flow. If their flesh moves quite vigorously, most prob need to put them in lower flow.

thanks bro, I really do appreciate your advice, as well as advice from the other bros. I'm taking it seriously. Will keep a look out for the Zoos. Yeah, perhaps flow might be too high. Will monitor.

Hi Craftsman Bro

Nice to see another reefer coming onboard. Had read almost all pages of this thread. Its definite a nice setup you had made.

As some reefer had pointed out that your Electrical Sockets are slightly too low for comfort. They are directly below your water down piping which is very dangerous. Just to share my past experience of making this mistake had my Tank burnt down due to elctrical sparks (short cct). Lucky that the water pipe burst (due to the fire) and extinguish the flame. House not burnt down, however have to clean up close to 100+ litres of salt water!!!!

Now all my electrical wiring (if possible) in the tank are "sitting" in wire casing and eclectrical points are above or away from water source.

Its better be safe then sorry.

thanks bro. This is very well noted. I saw a diy at Henry's place in ML where he waterproofed his sockets. Intending to do the same once I'm back from my holidays. :)

think there is a reefer selling the deltec sulphur d right?

if its from local agent its a good deal.

i emphasis from agent because these stuffs do breakdown in time. i got a parallel import deltec skimmer years back and regret till today.

the replacement part took me 1mth to come! although i save almost 700$ from the retail agent, but my i wasted more on livestock in the end! :cry2:
