Perfectly fine.... in fact you will notice normal daily PH flunctuations from as low as 7.9 to as high as 8.6.

That is why it is important to have a PH monitor so you will be able to maintain a stable PH level as much as you can for the tank inhabitant's good health.

A consistently stable PH at 8.3 to 8.4 is best.
