Tank size is 42x30x18 and its a 98.18 US gallon which is 371.61 Litres of water. (exclude Sump and LR)

Ocean runner 6500 is 1700 gph or 6500 litres. thus 6500/371.61 = 17.4914 times. After factoring head loss the pump should give around 5000L per hour thus the return per hr = 5000/371.61 = 13.45 times.

info from ocr 6500 pump specs

is my above computation correct?

Then Required feeding pump for my H&S A200-2x2001 is 2000 Litres. Can i use gravitational feed for it? i want to go green..

Gravitational feed can, install a valve on your overflow pipe to control water level.

Bro your tank is 3.5x2.5x1.5. How come no supports in the middle of the cabinet ah? Mr Chew confident those 4 legs able to withstand ~400-500kg weight? Just wondering...

well i did post this question to him as i am worry abt the structural intergrity of the cabinet. However he said that the TOP is a two layer of wood Well i did find the cabinet do not have those wood structure or beam but he ensure me that nothing will happen even @ the start of the work.

hmmm 2 layer of wood does help I guess. I'm just concerned coz every >3ft cabinet I've seen definitely has a support, even LFS. Guess we will be waiting for your favourable review! :eyebrow: Maybe set the trend for future cabinet designs.

btw what wood did you choose for the main frame? Kapok or Chenggai?

i think is kapok. Well he said that 4ft and above then use a middle beam to support.

Well i will need to visit PEt mart or c328 to get the Crushed coral and soak for 2.5wks then by then my LR should be ready from cooking. so i guess i need to get things running for the guys to fight up exisiting ATi pm to ceiling. And yes.. need to procure the necessary pipe and get my exisiting daeil 1/3 hp chiller running. If too hot, i have no choice but to SELL it and procure a aircon compressor. Hope my tank will be setup by xmas.

bro i do suggest you get him to cut out 2 pcs of additional removable centre beam , 1 for the back and 1 for the front

its good to have that added security , especially since its not chenggai cabinet.

salt water have almost double the weight of freshwater and plus rocks

i'm sure if you insist , he will just cut for you , even if he charges you i still suggest you do it

just my 2 cents

LOLmust be prudent.... ok will go pester him for this.

well i will need to visit him for other cabinet work too. but from what i learn the supporting wood must be from the FLOOR board to the top.

The center support is removable before water goes into the tank. He just needs to screw in some sort of stopper to prevent the support to move ard. Once the tank is filled with water and the extra weight sits into the support, it will become unmovable.

Although it doesn't start from the floor board, the support will still be resting on it, on top of a layer of plywood. Don't think it will affect the stability or anything as long as it's properly secured.

So he no need to Cut a hole @ the base board and just need to attach the wood from the top wood to the bottom wood? Is that what you mean? sorry for my bad description

The idea is to have something to support so the top board doesn't warp, so yes think u got the idea.

To ensure the support doesn't move, Mr Chew just needs to screw in a something to hold the support in place. He will know one la, he's the pro.

well the top board wont wrap as there is 5 supporting wood runing supporting the top. But will the side give way and the top came crushing down?

Yeah i wont want to take such risk. My previous tank have five 3x3x36 wood support for the cabinet. Well the price of the cabinet is high though and the volume is much more then my current tank. Will pester him to do it. :)

Maybe will get him to do a side stand for me to place a small frag/refugium tank. Oh gosh my room is getting messy...
