how should i clean my sump tank

hey everyone..i was just looking at my sump tank and it is dirty..was wanting to do a clean up..dirty as there is alot of dirt on the glass floor and just wana clean that up..but with my skimmer inside..how should i do it properly??has anyone ever done smth like this or should i just leave it alone..it is not that dirty but just wana do smth abt it :D

Tank - 4ft x 2ft x 2ft Custom Cabinet

Sump -3ft x 1.5ft x 1.5 ft Custom Sump

Return Pump - Aquabee 5000

Protein Skimmer - Skimz SM200

Chiller - Artica 1/4 HP

CR - Skimz CR100

FR - Skimz Monzter FM 100

Wavemaker - Tunze Nano 6025

Wavemaker - Tunze 6060

Water Top up - Powered by Aquatronica

This is what i do, when i was changing the water, i will suck out the water n dirt from the sump tank. This way the dirt will be sucked out without disturbing anything. =)

5x2.5x1.5ft Rimless Dream Tank (06/03/12)
Skimmer - Reefoctupus

Return Pump - 1 x Eheim 1264, 1 x water blaster 7k
Wavemaker - 2 x mp40es
Chiller - Daikin compressor with coil drop in

hahaha..i was thinking the same thing..as all i want to go is suck out the dirt which is on the sump tank floor..so i should get a small pump right?and do it

Use a hose and siphon it. no mess.

siphon - suck out using a hose.

In detail and you might already know this:

Take a hose, fill the whole hose up with water. Use your thumps to cover both ends.

Put one end into the sump, the other end into a pail.

The end at the sump must be at a higher level than the end at the pail

Let go the thumb at the sump and then the thumb at the pail

the water will flow from the sump to the pail.

Move the hose in the sump to suck out all the dirt.

Thanks..i just practiced this SIPHON method and it was amazing..cleaned my whole sump tank..squeaky clean now..
