will mounting a fan in sump reduce heat?

Hi ppl, i have a 13-14 gallon main tank with a 4 gallon sump/refugium. Will by mounting fans at the sump reduce much heat?

It won't reduce much. Fan will not be able to lower the temperature of your sump much because most of the heat comes from the main tank.

When I place my fun on my main tank, it reduces from 31 to 27 degrees. If placed on sump, main tank temperature is 29-30 degrees.

Mounting the fans on the sump ??? IMO, should mount near the light Not the sump, casue the light will product more heat ....... And than more dangerous that put the fans near the sump....

it will increase the rate of evaporation even more. I did that once to lower the amount of condensation, but it made the evaporation rate higher. damn.

Ya it wont reduce much heat. There is a possibility that the fan will get splashed by water and getting a shock and you touch it..

If you improve circulation in the sump, more evaporation will take place and thus water temp would go down by 1 or 2 degrees...

But depends where this air is being circulated lah.. if you put your sump in an airtight cabinet, you can circulate all you want but there won't be much evaporation and subsequently little heat loss
