Ya lah... have you to blame for making me spend so much money! Give such good review... hard to resist. :whistle

Wah my review very neutral hor.

How's the fan? Loud in your office?

I have not set it up yet... a little worried about my corals acclimatizing to the light change... still trying to figure out how to do this properly.

Handle with care hor. this part is tricky.

I think you'd be the best person to tell the difference as you have experience with both fans. To me, the fans are hardly audible in my office environment, which is a major plus. My skimmer and return pumps are actually much louder...

What are you waiting for? I'm sure you'll like it.

Sigh... still haven't thought of a good way to acclimatize my corals to the new lights. Any suggestions? Also, I am a bit concerned about splash and salt creep. My water surface is constantly agitated. Was thinking of an acrylic sheet as a splash guard.

it already has a acrylic cover.

maybe just change it when it gets real bad?

Btw, I find that the hole in the Sea Squirt is a little too small for mysis shrimp. Felt like enlarging it a little, but reluctant to damage the thing...

yah, on my 2nd feeding session, it did get stucked a little.

I just invert it and pump a little to loosen it up.

then resume.

It will be very near to the water surface, so I was thinking of an extra protection. The Hydor Flo and K1 in my tank really agitates the water surface, so I'm a bit concerned.

Hmmm... that's not what I want. I'll prolly try widening the hole a little.

hmmm will it affect the operation in future? As in: will it cost the mysis to be leaked out?

I don't think so, and certainly hope not! I'll keep you posted. I don't think I'll be target feeding anything smaller than mysis, so it only makes sense if the Sea Squirt works for it.

Peace,

Maybe you wanna try soaking the shrimp a little longer before using the squirt?

It did not jam up the 1st time I used it.

in any case, keep me posted please.

thanks.

And I thought I was careful not to release extra source of nitrates... your method is even better! :eyebrow:

hmmm, i really dunno how you manage to suck up the drained mysis.

Kudos to you !!! :)

Actually what I do is to defrost two cubes of mysis in a bowl of tank water. Once fully defrosted after ard 20 mins, I will then suck everything up into my 50ml syringe and blast it near my corals. For me, as long as my corals are booming, I'm pretty happy. I just try to keep the nitrates below 25 where possible. Once it goes above 25, i will do a large water change and that is why i keep 300-400L of NSW at my home...and this is also one reason why I won't try SPS as they require low nitrates... :eyebrow:

My Setup:

3x2x2 tank with IOS

Its tougher for us keeping nano tanks, so every little effort to reduce excess waste helps! ^_^
