i have 1 skimmer that skims yellowish-orange waste. the other 1 is thick greenish with black bits. can anyone explain

- what does the color tell?

- does the effectiveness of the skimmer produce certain colors?

- would the adjustment of the equipment cause a better result, or how to adjust equipment?

i have tested the ammonia level of the yellowish waste n its 0.25ppm

Hmm for me, i have only 1 skimmer..

on weeks I feed more Henry's food.. its light brown,

F1 - brown

F2- Greenish..

so I guess also depends on what your feeding menu is? ^_^

effective or not.. i guess for me, it depends on how thick the skimmate is.. cos I do dry skimming.. my dad does wet skimming.. so his is more watery

tks for ur feedback

i actually have both skimmers in the same tank to do this test

Prism (hang on) skims dark green with black bits

Reef octopus is inside the tank (the small box skimmer for in-tank) - this 1 skims yellowish waste.
