ICH still present after 10 days of medication

Recommended Posts

Hey reefers,

After dosing medication for 10 days and doing a 20% water change and ICH is still present in the system what do you do next?

Continue the medication for the next 10days?

Keep changing water?

Try to catch fishes infected and give them a paraguard treatment?

pls advice....very tired of this ich issue :angry2:

bro dosing medication will not get rid of itch. there is no cure for itch and the most effective way to treat and stop itch cycle is dosing copper or hypo the fish. you can find out more of these 2 types of treatment in the threads here. do a search.

as long it is still managable, i would advice you to leave it. by buying a good UV set, it will decrease your ick as well. i always trust my trusty coralife 36W.

basically, if your tank is stable with good flow, you wont have that big problem of ick too. i recommend adding bacteria.

all the best.

If a man could beat his own fantasy. Then to only breed in captivity. Then its pointless.

Genesis 1:20

And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that has life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. And God created great whales, and every living creature that moves, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

Pls do not carry out hypo or copper dose in your main tank, all inverts including your mushies and rbta will perish and crash your tank!

if they eat brine shrimp, chances of them eating mysis is pretty high....try mixing ur food together. example, mysis, brine, pellets.....feed them together....

hi again,

bacteria as in those nitrobacter involves in the nitrogen cycles. any will do but i personally uses zeovit's, rowa and prodibio

adding bac helps to stablise your tank more, so its indirectly helping.

I think one possibility is that the sponges on my live rocks are dying and i read they are actually very strong anti bacteria agents....therefore i think thats why...

Keep changing water. Your fishes are stressed by ammonia spike, which is why after 10 days of medication your fish are still not recovering.

Always something more important than fish.

agree... dosing medication will not help if the cause of stress is still there.

Try to eliminate the stress factor. Saw your posting on some of your fishes pickering, If fishes in your tank are being bullied, they will be more stressed and more susceptible to disease. good luck and keep us posted.
