Hi all,

In the progress of setting up a 2ft cube fowlr tank.

The hardscape mainly using tonga rocks, bare bottom setup.

Currently tank still filled with freshwater.

Still do not have any fish list in mind.

Please advise on which one do you think is better.

I like the 1st one but the point when the 3 "legs" touch the base looks a little artificial... a bit "robotic".

just my 1 cts worth.

Eqpt: Deltec MCE 600, Tunze 6055 with Tunze 7091 controller, Artica 1/15 HP chiller, AquaIllumination Sol Blue LED Light System

2011 resolution : Do it simpler, better and in an easier way!

Actually i am using cable tie to secure all the rocks. Some rocks even drilled hole to secure.

The whole rocks structure can be taken out as it is. So no worry for the collapse. ^_^

that's a relief :)

but still might want to add more caves for your fishes la... more cosy

Will try to look out for nice cave look alike rocks. I do have 1 clam rocks. Maybe will use that.

That is good to hear but get more rocks so that they will have more caves to hide and sleep at night.. maybe telling us the stocklist will help..

I still do not have any stocklist in mind. Any suggestion/advise?

In your first thread, you mentioned that the tank is still with freshwater. Don't you want to have it with salt? This is so that as you are still experimenting with the rockscape, your tank + filter system can be matured and cycled so that it can be ready for the fishes?

Regarding livestock, most fishes I know would like "caves" to hide.

Blue Tangs will find a cave to sleep at night else they will love the larger spaces to swim.

Fire gobies will be nice but lack of hiding places wil make them jump a lot.

Clownfishes and damsels are ok with the "open concept"

So regarding fishes, I would recommend "brighter" fishes so that it will brigthen the space.

bro, think that your tonga rocks is not really suitable for FOWRL, getting big rocks and having cave like is more "secure for them" as they got place to hide.

for the tonga rockscape, i dont think there's much space for them to hide.

no offense or anything as given my 2cent.

all the best!

I am still in the progress of setting up the auto top up system. Once the system done, i'll do the salt mix and start cycling the tank.

What are the brighter fish as u mentioned?
