does your clams really "move" or "jump" alot?

will they eventually settle at a spot where they are "happy"?

my understanding is that they will try to move until they are happy at a spot.

However, it it feel stressed or if there is any environmental changes it is not used to, it might decide to move again.

Yup, still not here yet leh. Shipment keep delaying. haiz

FYI, the 2026 measures 210mm x 210mm x 375mm (height). Flowrate is 950l/hr. It's rated for up to 300L aquariums but I think if you drive it through the chiller, it's really just nice for our tank size.

I am too lazy to start a tank thread as yet but will do so in a while. :paiseh:

Hey thanks Bro!

Size is just nice for me. Can chuck it in a corner.

Nice to see your tank in nano thread.

Keep us updated on your progress.

In this case, you should change to a cannister filter. If filtration is only done for the water from the overflow then it is not 100% effective. So ur intention is to get a cannister to replace the Tunze or use the cannister with the Tunze?

One thing u need to take note of when using carbon in a cannister is that the carbon should be wedged between two cotton floss filters. Otherwise you will get a lot of carbon dust in your tank. Phosphate media on the other hand need to be agitated by water to be effective in absorbing phosphates so you need to use a media tray specifically for that.

I would like to remove the Tunze cleaner and replace it with a cannister instead using surface extraction kit.

will chat you up after I have got it.

Thanks Marco.

I will ponder over these points.

Oh I see, sounds like a lot of shit there :(

well, I guess in the end of day, it depends if you want aesthetism or practicability.

Imo, I wouldnt go for canister because it's just too much trouble going through the primings, cleanings and servicings of a cylinder every month but for the sake of something neat to look at in the tank, then canister is the way to go.

Otherwise, I will suggest a hang-on back filter attached with a surface skimmer for practical uses. Surface skimmer can do top and bottom skimming and a hang-on back filter offers you 2 compartments to allow you to put your carbon etc in. So cleaning it is quite easy and restarting it is easy too. But downside, it's not so pretty to have so many equipments hanging around on your tank but it's practical.

So end of day it depends on yourself. whether you want aesthetism or practicability (:

Happy Reefing,

Marc J.

Fishes don't need to eat so much to survive lah.

I mean I feed them pellets everyday.

Mysis only once every 2 - 3 days.

excess feeding => waste.

thanks Comy

Medical Leave today :)

yah it will be better as long as my girl don't ask me to carry her tonight!

lol no lah.

Thats one of the reason i choose to keep a nano too.

testing water today. Coming back with results later :)

BTW, I think I have to hold on the gobies already.

The Tangaroa suddenly started attacking my Randall's goby

Now the R Goby has broken fin :(

yeah. just did a roll call yesterday. He is always in the same cave.

never seen it venture out. I think he should do well.

All the fishes have settled down well (except for the squabbling between the 2 Gobies)

I just need to maintain the water quality.

The Tangaroa suddenly started attacking my Randall's goby

Now the R Goby has broken fin :(

two updates:

1) The Randal's goby has won the battle and the war :)

He has a foothold in his corner now. The Tangaroa pretty much leaving it alone and dare not venture into that corner.

The reason is because he has paired up with the pistol.

clever little goby.

2) Found broken fin and tail on the R Goby. Not sure if it is due to the attack or if it is due to Brooklynellosis..... :(

Fishes with Brooklynellosis has brittle fin and tail right?

How long does it take for this disease to die off in a tank without finding a host?

does anyone know?
