Just sharing on a new product which I know there are a couple of reefers interested in.

I think I am a loyal customer to all good products iphone, iMAC, PS3, SONY HD SR series etc etc and I think I can add MaxSpect to the list.

Being a new product, there will definitely be some hiccups but the support I have been receiving from Razali and MaxSpect is excellent.

Now I am just waiting to see if the corals like the new lighting an if they can get acclimatised easily.

when I had my G1, I was not able to make any comparison as I did not have any livestock.

Now that I have been using my MH on a fully stock tank for 6 weeks or more, I can safely & accurately give a proper account of the switch and if the corals fair better or worst or the same after 4 -6 weeks.

you can try some SPS frags on top liao...haha...then you will know how good this is...SPS growth and colouring is the best way to find out.

unfortunately SPS growth is not just dependent on light alone.

There are so many other parameters critical to its well being - water parameters, flowrate etc.

In a nano, it is extremely difficult to keep a SPS species tank already. Trying to keep LPS, SPS and softies in a nano is definitely way out of my league - that is not to do that it cannot be done though.

update on LED:

just got the latest info that my LEDs are not CREE. They are still SemiLEDs.

No wonder the white is still soooo white. CREE white LEDs are closer to 7k so they tend to look more yellowish.

Working with MaxSpect to see if they can ship me CREEs over.

the higer the kevin, the more bluish it is and it looks nicer.

the lower the kevin, the more yellowish it is. Does not look as nice but corals be have better growth rate.

Actually no. For best coral growth it is 6.5K or colour of natural sunlight. But 6.5K is seldom used because it encourages algae growth which is why manufacturers use 10K lighting. For the best balance between colour and growth will be 14K.

BTW, had a wierd dream last week.

Dreamt that I was in SL and saw a tank full of yellow clown gobies.

Ask Jasmine about them and she said that they are feeding on pellets already!!!

clown gobies aren't that difficult actually.. i dunno what's wrong with the recent batch of reefers having trouble with clown gobies O.O i have a pair in my tank that eats anything. try getting them from ML. they seem to be much better than those at other LFS...

I personally feel that that they are hard to feed. (not due to food size) hard hor, not impposible.

Those at Henry's place prob are already feeding on his gourmet and hence will fair better.

Yeah I am waiting for him to bring them in again.

If my memory serves me right, there was a price tag there that reads: 8 brown + 8 blue + 8 red + 8 purple + 8x 50 cents.
