Thanks Justin

I was carrying my baby just now so could not type in my previous posts.

I actually broke the large piece of replica rock I bought into 4 pieces in other to scape this compact tank.

My criteria was to

1) have a cave for fishes to swim through.

2) clear sandbed

3) showcase platform for my zoas.

4) narrow tall scape so that the tank walls can be cleaned easily without toppling any rocks / corals when my hands are inside.

5) a scape that looks natural and pleasing to the eye

I am glad to say that all the above has been achieved :)

oh yeah! scape upward and away from glass wall are great ideas. If i were a pet fish, i will be happy to swim around your tank.

Yeah Justin, that is the main reason why I needed to rescape. Been knocking too many corals down whenever I clean the tank walls.

End up I try not to and tank walls just get too dirty.

I also removed all my live rocks & siphoned 90% of the sand I have and removed them. I think this caused my PH to dropped from 8.2 to 7.5

I am left with only 1 small piece of live rock and a very thin layer of sand inside.

BTW, my tank so small :(, I dun think any fish will be happy inside :P

Wanted to frag the zoas I have into 10 polyps bunch but simply dun have enough time to do it.

End up just epoxy most of it onto the rock.

If I do frag, then will keep you and Ray posted.

Now I just want to let the zoas blossom and grow and fill up the front piece of rock.

Also my zoas currently still have zoapox. But I have decided not to Furan2 treat it.

Think it is a controlled medication. Rather not take the risk with my family.

will let the zoas fight it off by itself.

Most likely not getting anymore corals already unless I see something I really like.

Tank is more of less full already. Will be getting fishes next.

Most of my fishes perished.

Need to get

- Yasha goby shrimp

- royal gramma

- neon goby

- mini yellow tang

- six line wrasse

- mini blood shrimp

- mini starfish

yes furan2 is controlled. will cause cancer if you breathe it in or have direct contact over long term exposure. one two treatments should be ok. but good call on not risking your family. if u really wanna be safe, u can do it somewhere well ventilated. don't breathe in the powder.

zoapox will very rarely cure by themselves unfortunately. even if they do, you will be likely to end up with very little survivors.

wow, more detrimental to our health than what I thought.

Really even for a few thousand worth of zoas, I do not think this is worth it.

Nothing is more precious than life.

well I still see zoa pox on some of my frags.

hopefully there will be at least a couple of survivors.

those that survive, will they succumb to zoapox if they break out again?

The list is quite short already. lol

My tank should be able to sustain.

I am a stingy feeder.

nope zoas that recover from pox will get it again and again and again and again until they die completely. otherwise, the only way to cure forever is to furan all infected ones. somes zoas are more suseptible. like US zoas and the eagle eye complexes. have given up trying to cure them as they will keep getting pox again and again once afflicted for the first time. unless you really do strict furan regiments.

really, it isnt that dangerous if you practice precaution like wearing gloves or do it outside in a well ventilated area. think of it like eating canned food. its not healthy yet most still eat it. can cause cancer? most probably. but over years of doing it. but salute you for thinking of family over tank. it is more worth it of course. i think the chemicals i handle in my school lab probably more dangerous than furan.... i'll probably have a higher chance of dying in school than doing my tank haha! The irony.. study genetics but end up killing yourself :P
