jackywongto
Eh...Jacky, U still want the filter socks? Will be placing an order to Marine Depot this Friday. Peter, I come back to you midweek. Saw the pic of the filter. Trying to figure out where I can put it in my tank. If I dangle it in my my tank will be damn ugly. jackywongto
If you are looking for ready made acrylic boxes, you can consider boxes from Muji. Pretty neat IMO. However, depending on your lighting period for the fuge, like what comy mentioned, you might wanna consider making it all black, maybe except visible at the back of the tank. That way, reverse lighting period won't keep your fishes up with sleepless nights. okay will go to the branch in marina square to take a lot. I've also just remembered that I still have the Tunze cleaner. If I can drop some chaetos inside, seal off the bottom so that water input will be only from the top and get an submissible light for the chaetos, that will work right? SRC Member peacemaker Posted January 5, 2010 SRC Member Share Posted January 5, 2010 do you really need to do reverse photo period since your main aim is only to grow pods? Might as well, since he did mention about fluctuating Ph some time back. Reverse photo period should somewhat stabilize it.
SRC Member comycus Posted January 5, 2010 SRC Member Share Posted January 5, 2010 Might as well, since he did mention about fluctuating Ph some time back. Reverse photo period should somewhat stabilize it. I guess it would be good to stabilise the ph. Not sure how much cheato will be needed to do the job, but since Jacky's tank gallonage is quite small shouldn't take a lot of cheato right? But if really want to reverse photosynthesize, the best way would be to totally cover up the hang in refugium in black paint at all sides and a totally sealed, splash proof light so that there is no leakage of light into main tank after normal lighting period and also leakage into the refugium during normal lighting hours? Sounds v. troublesome, maybe a 24hr photoperiod or something along the lines will be more feasible? hmmm, but this hang in refugium sounds like a v. good idea to explore, especially for sumpless tanks... Another great idea for me to store and use in future if I ever do up another tank! Quote My old 3ft

Peacemaker, Comy My PH now fluctuates between 7.75 - 8.15 Think I will just let it be. thanks for all the suggestions. I will slowly digest the information on the pods cultivation guide 1st and see whether this is really feasible. ================================= The silly mandarin fish. Maybe the processed pods isn't very nutritional. gotta speed up on my in-tank refugium project. jackywongto
no idea man. apparently not. but I am suspecting these pods foul up wht water quite a lot. SO I am very conservative with the dosage. jackywongto
thanks. rowaphos and rowa active carbon They should have indication on their instructions how much to put for your tank size (15 gallon?) for a period of how long. try not to exceed that amount. For salt water tanks, 100ml of RowaPhos will treat 100 - 200 litres of water. I think 50ml is ok for your tank. should last you about 3 -4 months at least. you using DI water? use test kit to measure your PO4 level periodically. jackywongto
thanks bro. yeah followed that, just wasn't sure when to change. btw, are your pinpoint monitors good ? This is my 3rd set. so yeah. I like them. PH is good. ORP.... hmmmm serves only as a rough guide. I use it as an alarm system. If drop too drastically and doesn't climb back up, then need to investigate whats wrong. If I have a larger tank, I would prob ditch this meter but nano is so small that if anything goes wrong, you need to pick it up really fast.
