jackywongto
Jacky, just wondering if your fishes white spots gone? Any updates on the chiller? Hope all is well. Peter, I have a family friend who's in the line, the retail ones usually are marked up at least 100% and you are right, their cuts aren't usually tt fantastic either. Morning Comy. checked my perc. the most of the whitespots are gone but he is jerking now and then and so are my other fishes. but they are feeding so shld be ok. The worst hit is my neon goby. white spots all over. The silly firefish is still harassing my perc Can see that the perc is so stressed. The chiller is not good. If I stop the pump and switch on again, dirt will come out again. Having problem with the temp reading too. It read 34 deg cel last night. The water was still cold though. I switch it off and on, then the reading gradually dropped to 25 deg cel. had to switch off and wait awhile , then it went back to the normal 27deg cel range. ** FAINT. on girl's best friend: Then you can chiong earlier already. dun have to save so much. Issit going to be used for proposal?? Issit going to be used for proposal?? Glad your fishes sound relatively ok. Chiller thermostat prob something wrong la, since it's under warranty, try to get it fixed asap. Just wondering, do you think it going bonkers has anything to do with it being housed inside the cabinet? When the repairman come might wanna ask his advice, I'm still wary of putting chillers inside cabinets even with fans and all. Just paranoid I guess Hahaaa don't think I can get away with proposing the HDB way, and since there are going to be alot of BTOs coming out this year, I need to plan early I think spend the $ on the bloody rock first before I get tempted by dunno what exotic aussie shipment or dunno what else... jackywongto
Have been looking at HOB refugiums. due to space constraints and for simplicity sake, I have decided to get a in tank HOB. The purpose of setting up this module in my tank is to cultivate pods and not to lower nitrate. Has anyone seen these selling in any LFS? http://www.cpraquatic.com/products/citr.html http://saltaquarium.about.com/od/refugiums...hitrefigium.htm comments? Want to make a nice one & proper one and hang it at the back of my tank. most likely going for 12x5x8 inches. need to measure the space I have tonight when I get home. cons with beta box: - ugly - without pump, water is rather stagnant - to install pump, need to drill - tendency to crack the box. - small - width too big. Need to read more on cultivating pods. SRC Member comycus Posted January 5, 2010 SRC Member Share Posted January 5, 2010 sounds like you need another acrylic box! But the box will be algae magnet! Consider painting it black with some reef safe paint? Quote My old 3ft
jackywongto
Peter: The box wil be too expensive by the time I ship here. easily 150 SGD approx. Let me check what is the cost of the acrylic 1st. I also have a spare pump which I want to re-use. Comy: ya right. need an acrylic box. Still need some light to penetrate for ; 1) chaeto growth 2) algae on the refugium wall can be scrub off as food for the copepods. 3) visibility if the pods population is growing maybe i will use black acrylics for the refugium box sides and bottom panel. The front will still be clear. However, depending on your lighting period for the fuge, like what comy mentioned, you might wanna consider making it all black, maybe except visible at the back of the tank. That way, reverse lighting period won't keep your fishes up with sleepless nights.
