SRC Member peacemaker Posted December 24, 2009 SRC Member Share Posted December 24, 2009 Can starpolyps be grown on the back tank wall just by placing a small colony there? Yup! You can stick just a bit of it on the wall and it'll work its way up.
Senior Reefer yikai Posted December 24, 2009 Senior Reefer Share Posted December 24, 2009 can grow. but slow leh for them to creep up from ur sandbed. alternatively u can cut a small piece and glue to ur glass higher up. they grow faster in higher light and higher flow

jackywongto
oh you got yours already??from GO? No kiko. I broke some from my starpolyps coral. They are luminous green so should be quite nice if they can grow on the wall. Thanks Peacemaker, Lemon, I will let it slowly creep up then. No time to prime and glue. Senior Reefer yikai Posted December 24, 2009 Senior Reefer Share Posted December 24, 2009 if you buy skin polyps, they encrust very very much faster. the stolon (mat) is grey instead of purple. it took mine 1 week to encrust to the glass. these grow without rocks and adhere much moer readily. jackywongto
Did a water test today. Last WC was on Tuesday and used SL saltwater mix. I think I can reduce the WC frequency to every fortnightly instead of weekly. dKH - 8.0 Mg 1140 - so low... sherman
Bro, What salt you using ? How come MG always so low? Phosphate and NO3 still high. You feed a lot? jackywongto
Bro,What salt you using ? How come MG always so low? Phosphate and NO3 still high. You feed a lot? well i usually purchase NSW from LFS. From the last time reading taken till yesterday, I only changed 10% of the water. So changes will be minimum definitely. I bought mixed salt water from SL the last time. Have not tested their water param yet. On the Mg level, I have underdosed the Mg. Suppose to dose 20ml daily to raise it Mg by 18.5 ppm per day. I have been dosing like 5 ml per 2 - 3 days recently. I will dose 20 ml of Mg daily for 2 weeks and see how's the response. Nitrate remains because a couple of fishes died due to the rescaping, my skimmer was not working for the last 3 days. I have yet to install my Eheim Cannister 2026, with the biohommes and more carbon, it should drop to about 5 ppm Lets see how things go 1 week later. Skimmer problem. That is bad especially for small tank. Try to do more frequent water change till the skimmer issue is resolve. jackywongto
My clingfish seems weaker by the day. Do not thnk he will last... I love this fella. My AoG zoas. recovering slowly. Hope they get well soon. They have not open up for the last 2 days and I think I am now left with 2 polyps (from 3) only. Comycus, The pink is slowly recovering. Very faint but the camera seems to capture their colour better than with our naked eye. One of my favorite from Peacemaker Most of the zoas seems to be opening up more now.
