still deciding whether to use nsw or salt mix for my future wc...so got sum from cf to try heh

both also has pro and cons leh....

but Ray's perspective is that for nano tanks, better to be safe than sorry and use saltmix.

what reef chilli?

your gourmet?

nope, not my gourmet... :eyebrow:

Reef Chili is dehydrated reef flakes made up of phytoplankton, zooplankton, copepods, brine shrimps and a lot of other stuff. All in one food for all corals. Highly recommended on RC. Was thinking of getting some in from the states to try. If good then next time can forget about buying all the zooplankton and other coral food etc that costs a bomb.

My Setup:

3x2x2 tank with IOS

Equipment List:

Chiller: Artica 1/5HP

Chiller Pump: Sicce 4000

Return Pump: OR3500

Skimmer: Deltec APF600

Wavemaker: Tunze Wavebox/2x Hydor K2/SCWD wavemaker

Lights: DElighting 2x150W MH + 2x 39W T5 Atinic

FR: Skimz

FR Pump: Atman AT-104

Tubby ATO, Kalkweisser Reactor with magnetic stirrer.

Tested Iwarna's NSW, no nitrates leh. But salinity only 1.02, PH is 8.2-8.3, Calcium ard 400, magnesium ard 1150 and dKH only 6-7.

PH is surprisingly stable. In the day, PH is 8.3, at night when lights are off, PH is at 8.2.

Ok will have to ship in from the states though. Don't think i will be passing by any LFS while I'm there... :eyebrow: I only have 2 weeks before I leave for the States. Dunno whether to order now or wait till I'm back next year. Will also need to order some filter socks.

heh thx for the note bro... so far hvn glue or epoxy any corals yet coz still not satisfied wif their placement haha...

+1 on LemonLemon's point.

Never epoxy your clam! Will do more harm than good.

regards to placement, I have seen a friend drilling and cutting holes in live rocks just for clam placement!

If you have access to power tools, that's an option (:

Happy Reefing,

Marc J.

Hmmm... I wonder if they could ship corals to your hotel and you can hand carry them back...? :heh:

I will only be staying at each hotel probably 2-3 nites max so I don't think they can deliver to my hotel so quickly. Corals wise, I don't think it is advisible to hand carry back to Singapore.

I think there is going to be a colony of tubeworms on one of my liverocks...

Order now. have them send to your hotel.

Pick it up when you are there at the hotel and hand carry back.

Easiest & cheapest way.

I did it this way before.

Update on the Seasquirt.

.. I LOVE IT!!!!!

issues I had when using syringe

- Straw dropped out.

- lack of control

- mysis leak out when you did not apply pressure.

- squirt to much at one time.

- too light. tends to float in water.

Well this apparatus does not have any of the above mentioned issues.

- I manage to feed my suns without messing up the whole tank.

- sent a few mysis to my gobies and jawfish too.

AWESOME. money well spent i guess.
