Either way is fine. I used to feed my suns small pieces of fish which I cut using scissors and then just dump them on the area where the suns are. Later i decided to mesh them and mix them with Henrys, copepods, zooplanton & rotifiers before dumping them on the area where the suns are.

Whichever way you feed, do take note that overfeeding will KILL the suns as they expend quite a bit of energy while feeding.

Thanks Peter.

Gonna feed it, clean off the algae, change the carbon and phosphate removers, then do WC. Lucky its a nano, else it will be a very late night for me.

How often do you change your carbon and phosphate media??? Carbon only need to change once a month and phosphate media only change when your PO4 reading rises. Otherwise if you keep changing both media monthly, it will burn a large hole in your pocket.

Oh ya, btw, supersuns dun need to be fed everyday. What I do now is to feed them meaty food like mashed fish/henrys/combo and then for the next 2-3 days I just feed them rotifiers, copepods etc. In this way, I will be sure that I do not overfeed them.

this is the 1st time I am changing the medias.

So it has been almost a month.

1st time feeding the suns too. Intend to feed it about 2 - 3 times a week in small qty.

Next feed will be 2 days later with silver fish and another 2 days later will be mysis shrimp.

ok ok.

I will feed it twice a week 1st. Wonder why henry says he feed his suns daily.

Maybe because he flood the tank and not by target feeding.

A little stressful here coz I know Lorenzo loves them.

For henry, it is different because he just floods his tank with his food. So it depends on whether the suns can actually grab the food and most of the time they can only get small portions. However, if you target feed them, then each head is going to get a lot more food so you can't feed them daily in this case. Henry does target feed his suns but only once a week.

That bicolour blenny alone gives out more waste than all my LS.

These 2 tiny fishes & shrimp will not load much.

damn I need to visit Sitex... laptop totally cannot switch on :(

wah 1 night and got so many new additions! great choice on the gobies and shrimp! They look really cute and you hopefully the pistol shrimp and yasha (is tt yasha?) pairs up. Will be really cool to watch them together.

lol my first water change took me 2hrs. I have cut it down to 20min now. Just guessing... some water spilt on the floor and you had to mop? Then when you restarted your reefpack, it didn't work or something like tt?

Well 3 hrs and that includes the feeding of the Suns.

Got so confused which head I have fed already and which one I missed.

Gosh... there are about 12 large heads that I need to feed.

But I was rather lethargic yesterday. So much slower and the cleaning of the acrylic walls is such a pain especially near the sandbed.

And my silly pistol shrimp was at the tank wall. Did not want to frighten him.

Bad news, Woke up and saw that my high fin goby dead.

I last saw him just 3 hrs ago.

The body was still intact so I guess he did not manage to adjust to my tank and was not attacked.

I saw that he kept swimming in mid tank last night. I thought gobies only stay on the sand bed?

Was that a symptom that he is already not feeling well?

In memory of my high fin in his 1 night stay :(

Saw my suns devouring something white just now. Could be the prawn I fed last night.

My feed was like 8 hrs ago. Did he have problem digesting?

Some of the heads have enlarged beyond the size of a 50 cents coin.

Wow... the effect of feeding? I actually prefer them to be smaller. kinda gross when they are so huge.

There are also some small little cute baby heads all around the base. cute.

Will take some photos next time.

Give it some time to settle down la. The thing with this goby is it's so small! You will prob see it once in a blue moon. Lucky yours is a nano tank, at least still can spot. Put in my tank, cfm will never see it again until the day I decomm.

Thanks Zhimin.

I have a spare Toshiba laptop for sale if you want.

Quite high end 1 yr ago. Now should still be quite good.

(i used it for gaming)

Contact me if you wanna view.

The goby is not yasha. its a high fin goby. but RIP already :(

1st casualty.

regarding the 3 hrs, I was just slow that's why.

I should be able to make it within 30 mins next time.

The cleaning of the wall is really difficult.

One more thing, I changed 10% water and the PH dropped from 8.3 to 7.98 !!!!

Maybe thats why the goby cannot take it.

Maybe next time just change 5%.

ORP has also dropped from 370 to 330 :(

That is actually a pretty small head and you fed quite a big piece of prawn? If that is so, it probably hasn't fully eaten the prawn yet.
