Hybrid Powder Blue

Recommended Posts

My 2.5" Hybrid Powder Blue Tang after 3 week's quarantine. Sorry about the poor picture quality (using my phone camera). 100% inch free and feeding on red bamboo, mysis, pellet and nori. I hope my resident 4" Powder Blue Tang will welcome this little fella with open fin.

The top and bottom yellow finage is absolutely gorgeous. The normal PBT has a white chest. This hybrid has a blue chest making the whole fish completely blue. The tail also has a yellow vertical band. Really love this fish.

I think will have have big problem going into your tank with the resident Powder Blue... I have Hybrid Powder Blue and Hybrid Powder Black... And they are not getting along very well although both are still eating... The Hybrid Powder Blue will chase the Hybrid Powder Black when it is out in the Open..

you can try putting both fish is transparent box or betta box side by side. let them get use to each others release them after about 1 mth. ensure both feeding then release them both together. this might help in reducing aggressive a little.

I agree with you absolutely. Before I lay eyes on this hybrid, I knew PBT will not tolerate another one of its kind in the same tank. All that consideration went out the window the minute I saw this little fella. I just gotta have him. Now I am in a dilemma. There is no way I can give up my 4.5" inches PBT. I still have a 3" AT under quarantine.

Why not keep the Hybrid.. Haha... I find it nicer than normal ones...

I believe this is the only way to introduce when there is a resident pbt. Did you tried putting a mirror to the hybrid?? I did it on mine, and it almost changed to a powder black <_< I would give up my hybrid if it does not work. Imo, nothing beats the brilliant blue of PBT.

Best Regards,

sorry ranchuboy,

i dun mean to give u wet blanket but coexisting is highly unlikely. been there done that.

unless u have a tank of atleast 8ft -10ft.

but still all the best for it.

If a man could beat his own fantasy. Then to only breed in captivity. Then its pointless.

Genesis 1:20

And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that has life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. And God created great whales, and every living creature that moves, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

yeap agreed. but he already got the fish liao unless he give up one otherwise he gottna sell away one. there is also a new AT.... if it was me, i would take out the existing powder blue. release the AT into the tank and put the hybrid and PBT into basket or betta box and wait a few months.

beside aggression, white spots might come when under stress esp for PBT and the hybrid. be careful... i tried powder blue and powder black before one bigger than the other until white spots wipe them out after 6 mths... :(

At the moment, I will let the small hybrid stay in the betta box and fatten it up first. I will not stress out the resident Powder Blue by trying to remove it. Will most likely sell off the hybrid via an auction.

the exsisting pbt may not make it too, its quite skinny immune system might not be gd enuff to fight of the terrible ick outbreak.
