Star Fish

Hi bros/sis..

I bought 2 star fish yesterday and it seemed they got bitten/attacked!!I've got 4 clowns a doctor shrimp a sea cucumber and a blue tang. Can they live 2gether? My star fish are those with black hard horns and they looked like been bitten off ....any advises??Thks...noobie.

that is a chocolate chip starfish by your description. they are not reef safe and will consume corals for your info. how big is your blue tang? your livestock all seem compatible with your starfish. check you nitrate levels. starfishes don't like exceedingly high NO3 levels and will start dropping arms if that happens.

either that, or maybe its a crab feasting on your starfish at night

Hey,Thks for the advice...

Both starfishes up the lorry already :( ...So it cld be nitrate lvl huh.Blue tang is abt 5 in big....Yup its those choco chip ones. Other than N03 & Crabs...any other advices on keeping star fishes??...are they hardy in the 1st place...i've no corals in mt set up but intend to put some in future...Do u acclimatized corals too??
